uggling to feed their families that we could inspire the public to press for military spending to be redirected to human needs. We also reduce food waste and meet the direct need our our community by collecting discarded food, preparing vegan meals that we share with the hungry while providing literature about the need to change our society. Food Not Bombs also provides food to protesters, striking workers and organize food relief after natural and political crisis. What is Food Not Bombs trying to achieve? Even though we provide meals and groceries to thousands of people we are not a charity. Food Not Bombs is trying to inspire the public to participate in changing society and focus our resources on solving problems like hunger, homelessness and poverty while seeking an end to war and the destruction of the environment. We are also showing by example that we can work cooperatively without leaders through volunteer effort to provide essential needs like, food, housing, education and healthcare. When over a billion people go hungry each day how can we spend another dollar on war?

Here at Providence Food Not Bombs, we've had a great start to 2026 with lots of projects and community support. Swipe through to see what’s been cooking!

We’re so grateful to the organizations, businesses, and individuals who work with us to make a difference. Food Not Bombs is not a charity, but a collective of people dedicated to helping one another in the face of a system designed to suppress solidarity.

Want to get involved? Come join us for a meal and lend a hand! We do three weekly food & supply distributions-

Sundays at Kennedy Plaza 2-4pm
Thursdays at Kennedy Plaza 9:30-11:30am
Saturdays at Dexter Park 12-2pm.

🚨PLEASE SHARE! This weekend the temperatures will be fatally cold in the evening. One person has already died sleeping on the streets. Are there any volunteers who would be willing to patrol the streets downtown for an hour or two at night this weekend? You would either 1) help the person into your car and bring them to one of the warming centers (we’d provide that list) or 2) keep them warm while you call 911 to take them to the hospital. If you can, DM me and I’ll add you to the coordination thread

On January 30th, Providence Food Not Bombs joined thousands of Rhode Islanders at the statehouse to demand an end to ICE.

We showed up with hot drinks, snacks, and plenty of informational zines. Protestors used our station to share resources with one another- handwarmers, stickers, flyers, and support.

We strongly oppose the kidnappings, deportations, separations, abuse, and executions inflicted by ICE, from Minnesota to our own communities in Rhode Island. We stand in solidarity with the Somali Student Association of the University of Minnesota and the ICE OUT movement. The police state cannot be reformed. ICE must be abolished. We must protect each other.

Show your support to the amazing local orgs doing the work to protect our neighbors. Donate to Dorcas International, learn how to use the deportation defense line through AMOR RI - Alianza para Movilizar Nuestra Resistencia explore community resources through Immigrant Coalition of Rhode Island

Educate yourself, make a zine, share food with your neighbors, volunteer, keep a whistle, show up to the protests, run a fundraiser, be prepared to disrupt and defend. Everyone can play a part in getting ICE OUT!

We'll see you at the statehouse on Friday! Come find us for snacks & zines!

Enjoying a cozy snow day from indoors? ❄️

These winter weather conditions are beautiful for some Rhode Islanders. For others, it's a fight for survival.

Please consider contributing to our campaign to keep our unhoused neighbors safe & warm.

Anyone who walks through Kennedy Plaza, the epicenter of Rhode Island's homelessness crisis, can feel the suffering of the unhoused in the winter. Why so many out in the cold? High rents and a lack of shelter beds. As street outreach volunteers, we often feel like we are in a warzone: a war of gover...
