At WRC, our mission is to facilitate the transition for African refugee families to life in the United States by helping them to become self-sufficient and productive members of society, while maintaining their cultural and ethnic identity. Women Refugee Care aims:
- To promote gender equality and to empower fellow refugees women;
- Advocate and support vulnerable groups of women with the princip

le of: "If you give me a fish, I eat in one day but if you teach me to fish, I eat always."
- Promote the development of economic projects and positive actions in favor of children and women;
- Fight malnutrition and undernourishment by entertainment and education sessions, healthy eating and balanced diet also health education, body hygiene instruction; agriculture methods of livestock and fishing trough its programs health and agro pastoral;
- Fight against girl juvenile delinquency with schooling projects;
- Build a pilot school for girls from poor families in the Congo;
- Follow up refugees students in accordance with teachers, social workers and principals in school to build a bridge between parents and schools;
- Support the children from poor families by paying their school fees, particularly case of distress affecting children and women in any unanticipated circumstance in relation to rights of children and women.

Meet Nelsa Tiemtore โœจ๐Ÿ’›

Nelsa, a student at Brown University, has been a dedicated part of the Womenโ€™s Refugee Care family throughout all four years of her college journey ๐ŸŽ“๐ŸŒŸ. During her time with WRC, she has worked closely with our Executive Director, Aline, in administrative work and helping keep our organization running smoothly.

Nelsa has also used her creativity and talent to create countless videos, presentations, and materials that have helped tell our story, highlight our impact, and connect with our community ๐ŸŽฅ๐Ÿ“Šโœจ.

We have been incredibly fortunate to have Nelsa by our side over the years. Her dedication, hard work, and commitment to our mission have left a lasting impact on Womenโ€™s Refugee Care and the families we serve ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿค.

Jeanne has been working closely with the women in our sewing program, bringing creativity, fresh ideas, and exciting energy into our sewing space ๐Ÿ’› From the very beginning, she found Womenโ€™s Refugee Care on her own and chose to dedicate her time and talents to our community.

What an incredible experience in Washington, D.C. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโœจ

Our Co-Founder and Executive Director of Womenโ€™s Refugee Care had the honor of participating in Rhode Island Day, hosted by Seth Magaziner and Gabe Amo ๐Ÿค

The visit included inspiring tours of the United States Capitol and the Library of Congress ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ›๏ธ, along with meaningful panels discussing food injustice, healthcare, and housing accessibility. We were also honored to hear from leaders including Nancy Pelosi and Hakeem Jeffries โœจ
