I am UNIDOS spanish club president/UNIDOS world language club chair and this is my story:
I was born in DR (🇩🇴) and I was raisraised there until 18th. Since I was between 7 and 8 years old, I had a lot of curiosity about world languages. At the beginning, I thought there was just one language, but with the time, I realiziled there are many different languages; as a result, I started having curiosity and interest in learning them. I currently speak between 4 and 5 languages: Spanish, English, French,a little bit of Portuguese and Italian. When I came to the USA, I never thought I was going to lead a club because I just wanted to get my associates degree, but in 2023, I started leading the Italian student group at CCRI until 2024. When I came to RIC for the first time, I wanted to create an Italian student group, but my first advisor at RIC told me that instead of creating just an Italian student group, I can create a world language club. That's why I created this wonderful club and reactivated UNIDOS Spanish Club to make students be interested in learning languages and support this area through events and meetings. Although this is my last year at RIC, I want to make UNIDOS spanish club and UNIDOS world language club be famous and give these wonderful clubs to the next generation who will lead them successfully. With RIC Student Engagement & Leadership Development L.A.S.O. the E-board of the clubs, and the modern languages department, I'm going to get that mission.

🪩your major is not world languages education or modern languages? That's not a problem, we accept any major.

In these two clubs, you will have the opportunity to explore events, from multilingual karaoke to panels with language teachers or the WLED director.
