RISD BAAD

RISD BAAD BAAD is a community of Multicultural Artists and Designers at The Rhode Island School of Design We've got your back!!!!!

Black Artists and Designers is a student community and safe space for marginalized students and their allies. The mission of Black Artists and Designers is to support and explore blackness and it's intersections regarding RISD, White Cubes, Amerikkka, and International identities. We believe addressing our roles not only as artists, but also how race and cultural identity play a part in our expe

riences is necessary. We aim to create a space devoted to dialogue, action, and community involvement for students of color and their allies. Throughout the year we engage the RISD/Providence community through exhibitions, lectures, visiting artists, service, and social events. We work with different various organizations across campus, such as Brown University, The University of Rhode Island, and The NAACP Chapter of Providence. Our goal is to inform and educate while also creating connections across cultural boundaries.
