What a summer of Super Fun+!

All summer long, we found new ways to bring fun, play, creativity, learning, and connection to public spaces across Providence.

From splash pads and garden clubs to art, biking, field trips, healthy activities, games, and so much more, every experience showed just how many ways our public spaces can bring people together. 🌳🎨🚲💦

Through SPF 100+: Super P3 Fun+!, kids, families, neighbors, and partners helped make this a summer to remember. Every activity was another opportunity to get outside, try something new, meet someone new, learn something new—and simply have fun together.

The summer may be coming to an end, but the fun doesn’t have to.

One of the best ways we know how to play is by coming together in our public spaces!

P3 was excited to be invited to join the Providence Recreation Department’s Camp Fun Day, where 10 recreation centers came together for a day of fun, friendly competition, and celebration! 🏅🌎 With an Olympic-style competition, each recreation center represented a different country as kids competed, played, and enjoyed the day together.

P3 joined the fun with hundreds of bubbles, 600+ sweet treats, 1,000+ water-based tattoos, 1,000+ stencil tattoos, giant games, and plenty of ways to play! 🫧🍧🎨

From the activities provided by Providence Recreation to the extra fun P3 brought along, Camp Fun Day showed just how many ways our public spaces can bring people together. A big thank-you to the Providence Recreation Department.

Learning, exploring, and having fun can all happen at the water’s edge! As part of P3’s Education, Conservation & Stewardship pillar, DIY Fishing Club at recreation centers gives local youth the opportunity to get outside, learn about fish and aquatic life, and better understand the natural world around them. 🌊🐟

Along the way, fishing teaches patience, focus, perseverance, and respect for nature. From learning the basics to casting alongside friends, mentors, and family, each experience is a chance to connect, learn, and build an appreciation for our environment. Weekapaug Bait and Tackle

There are so many ways to stay active, explore, and have fun in our public spaces! This summer, kids, families, and community members hopped on bikes, learned about healthy foods and habits, enjoyed fresh smoothies, and discovered fun ways to stay active together. Every activity was an opportunity to move your body, care for your well-being, connect with others, and enjoy the outdoors.
