Center for Leadership and Educational Equity

Center for Leadership and Educational Equity The Center for Leadership and Educational Equity is a Rhode Island non profit organization that trains, grows, and supports leaders for schools.

We believe the best way to learn is together and the best way to lead is by example; therefore, our programs engage leaders in professional learning communities that model best practices for staff development in schools. The Center currently runs two such programs for teacher and school leaders, the Principal Residency Network (PRN) and the Learning Leader Network (LLN). Download the Center’s News

The Rhode Island Foundation has generously contributed to the work of the Center. However, we also rely on funding from individuals. Whether you are a current member, a friend, or a future participant, we need your support, financial or otherwise. Please keep in touch with us by updating your information on the contact form.

The Massachusetts Performance Assessment for Leaders (PAL) requires candidates to demonstrate leadership through authentic, job-embedded practice. CLEE’s Leadership in Practice online course gives candidates formative support to complete the four PAL assessment tasks required for initial principal/assistant principal licensure in Massachusetts. The course emphasizes setting direction for high student achievement through job-embedded leadership actions and is grounded in anti-racist leadership competencies and Professional Standards for Administrative Leadership.

Every educator sees opportunities to improve learning experiences for students. The challenge is knowing how to turn those insights into meaningful, sustainable change. This learning pathway helps teacher leaders develop the knowledge, skills, and leadership practices needed to identify barriers to student success, understand their root causes, and lead improvement efforts that make a measurable difference for students.

Instructional coaches, department heads, grade-level leaders, PLC facilitators and school improvement team members often find themselves leading change, guiding collaboration and supporting colleagues without having formal supervisory authority. Yet their ability to influence practice can shape outcomes for students across an entire school.

We believe leadership is about agency. It is about seeing opportunities for improvement and bringing people together to act on them.

The start of a new school year brings new priorities, limited time and important decisions about where to invest your professional learning resources. Whether you or your team are strengthening facilitation skills, reconnecting with colleagues or sustaining strong leadership practices throughout the year, CLEE offers learning experiences that meet you where you and your team are.

It can help to slow down, start with inquiry, and ask, “What do I or my team need most right now?”
