Our Story

Rhode Island Chamber Music Concerts originated in soirées of the 1930s at the Benefit Street home of newlyweds Anne and John Nicholas Brown, both ardent lovers of chamber music. Those concerts started a tradition that turned into the oldest chamber music presenting organization in the state, and one of the oldest chamber music series in the country.

Since the 1950s, we have presented top international stars in the world of chamber music–the same classical artists who give sold-out performances at Carnegie Hall in New York, the Philharmonie in Berlin, and Wigmore Hall in London – but we bring them right to your doorstep in a relaxed, intimate setting and at an unbeatable price.
