The RI Donation Exchange Program is a nonprofit social enterprise which operates a 10,000 square foot Donation Center/Furniture Warehouse by soliciting donations of furniture from community business partners and individuals statewide. These items are passed on at a minimum cost to qualified individuals and families who have been referred to our program by human service organizations from around th

e state. In 2017, Comprehensive Community Action Program (CCAP) and the RI Donation Exchange Program entered into an agreement in which CCAP would manage, stabilize and improve RIDEP’s operations. In addition, CCAP has established the RI Donation Exchange Program as a job training site for youth in customer service, retail sales and furniture refurbishing.

Juneteenth is a day on which honor and respect is paid for the sufferings of slavery. It is a moment in time taken to appreciate the African American experience. It is a day on which we acknowledge the evils of slavery and its aftermath. On Juneteenth we talk about our history and realize because of it, there will forever be a bond between us. It is inclusive of all races, ethnicities and nationalities - as nothing is more comforting than the hand of a friend.
