First Day of the Young Women Coalition (YWEC)! We kicked off YWEC highlighting: Breast Cancer Awareness month, International Day of the Girl Child (tomorrow! Oct. 11th), and celebrating the remainder of Hispanic Heritage Month (ends Oct. 15th). YWEC Cohort 7 is off to a great start! 👀✨ That’s YWEC! The Young Women’s Equity Coalition is a 7-month mentorship experience for young women of color between 14-24 in Rhode Island. 💕 You’ll have real conversations, build leadership skills, explore DEI and social justice, work on hands-on projects, and connect with women of color mentors who can support you in your goals, career, and future. 🌱✨

🎀 This Saturday, RICJ youth and alumni are hitting the pavement for a 5K in honor of breast cancer awareness during the OctoberVets Festival in Wickford Village! Come cheer us on and show your support! 🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️💗

📚 Then on Monday, October 5 from 3:30-5 PM, we hope you’ll join us at RICJ for our Curriculum Project Community Feedback Event. We want to hear from you-your thoughts, ideas, and feedback matter as we continue building this work together. 🗣️

September’s Falling, October’s Calling! 🍂 We kicked off YAC, had our youth participate in exciting community events like Recovery Day and PVD Fest, and celebrated the start of Hispanic Heritage Month by creating colorful posters and learning fun facts about Hispanic countries.
