To all our loyal supporters:

After 10 years of service, we are excited to announce that Center for Resilience will soon be a part of Inspiring Minds!

Center for Resilience and Inspiring Minds both:

◾️ Empower students to succeed;
◾️ Connect with students with a trauma-informed and equity-based lens;
◾️ Build trusting relationships with teachers and students;
◾️ Believe that growth and learning take place when people of all ages are connected, confident, and focused;
◾️ Provide students with critical life skills;
◾️ Work in partnership with schools, teachers, students, and families;
◾️ Collect qualitative and quantitative data to ensure programs are evidence-based.

These strong synergies made this a smart transition for our organization’s next chapter of growth and development —especially at a time when resilience is so critical.

Beginning July 1, Inspiring Minds will be incorporating the ResilientKids™ mindfulness-based social and emotional learning curriculum into their suite of services.

We are grateful for all the support, encouragement, and accolades we have received over the past 10 years from donors, grantors, volunteers, advisors, students, teachers, families, building administrators and paraprofessionals, and superintendents. We would also like to extend our thanks to Inspiring Minds for their stewardship in seeing this come to fruition and to all those involved for making this transition as seamless as possible.

We are excited to see our program grow and expand with this partnership, and we know Melissa and her team will continue to inspire students across the state for many years to come.

Follow Inspiring Minds to continue seeing the important work being done with students across Rhode Island.

We have become accustomed to taking care of others before taking care of ourselves; however, the only way we *can* help others, is if we have enough reserves in our virtual compassion repository to give.

We invite you to join us for the next 30 days for the and prioritize your own self-care. Notice what happens when you take a few mindful moments each day.

Take a few minutes right now to fill out the blank challenge calendar, using our self-care suggestions or your own ideas, and then hang it somewhere you will see it every day. You could even put the daily challenges into your calendar to remind yourself to prioritize self-care each day. Tag a friend to join you as a self-care accountability buddy!

It’s ! Whether coloring, sketching, doodling, or painting, getting present in the creative process can make art not only a stress-relieving practice but also a mindful experience.

However you plan to create your bird, start by getting grounded, taking a few deep breaths, and setting an intention. As your creative journey unfolds, can you stay with the experience resisting the judgment of the outcome?

Observe the lines, the colors, the textures, and the shapes on your paper. Listen for the movement of your pen, pencil, markers, or paintbrush. Or just listen to the silence. Notice how your body, mind, and heart feel throughout this experience.

When you’re done, share your bird with us! We can’t wait to see what you create and hear about your experience with !

Happy ! Walking is something we do every day without much thought. Today, try being intentional with every step you take.

Whether you are walking briskly for exercise or just walking around your home or office, see if you can feel the connection between your feet and the ground. Notice all the parts of your body that coordinate gracefully so that you move with ease.

Try repeating a word or phrase to yourself as an intention while you’re walking, or simply counting your steps as you walk from one place to the next.

Paying attention to the present moment can make something as simple as walking a mindfulness practice, enriching and enlivening the experience of getting from point A to point B.
