We are united and grounded by our history and rich traditions and cultures. We are committed to the success of our clients, helping them to move ahead. As such, we provide our clients with the skills and knowledge necessary to be self-sufficient and advocates for their own needs. We hold the highest standards for performance and integrity. We value collaboration and build partnerships to advance our programs and services. Whom we serve:

CSEA was founded in 1987 by a collaboration of Mutual Assistance Associations to serve four Southeast Asian communities (Cambodian, Hmong, Laotian and Vietnamese) who arrived in Rhode as refugees. Today, we continue to serve Southeast Asians and their families and, as is our tradition, invite other community members to participate in and benefit from our programs and services.

We wish to thank everyone who helped make our 9th annual Kids, Cops & Classrooms campaign such a success. The goal of the program is to help ease the financial burden many families face when it comes to providing their children with the school supplies they need, while also showing them that members of the law enforcement community are there to help.

This year’s campaign resulted in the collection of thousands of dollars’ worth of backpacks and supplies donated by individuals and corporate sponsors. The record number of backpacks and supplies were distributed to local churches, social service agencies and other organizations that work with disadvantaged children and families across Rhode Island.

These agencies include the African Alliance of Rhode Island, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Rhode Island, the Center for Southeast Asians - CSEA, the Chad Brown Alumni Association, Children's Friend, Crossroads Rhode Island, the Faith Based Alliance, Family Service of RI, Helping Hearts, the Hispanic Ministerial Association of Rhode Island, the Islamic School of Rhode Island, the Mount Hope Neighborhood Association, Multi-Service Center for All, Get Unified Solutions, and Wiggins Village.

We thank the Rhode Island Police Chiefs’ Association, Rhode Island Department of Attorney General, U.S. Attorney’s Office in Rhode Island and other federal, state and municipal law enforcement agencies for their partnership in this program.

We also wish to recognize our corporate sponsors, Benny's, Hasbro, Inc., Ocean State Job Lot, Samsonite and Walgreens for their generous donations, as well as members of the public who brought donations to our barracks and local police departments.

Finally, we thank the campers and staff at the Fox Point Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence for hosting our press conference on Wednesday.

Stop by our office after school this Thursday (September 14) @ 3:30 PM for fun and meaningful activity to celebrate RI Month of Peace! CSEA is working with the Knight Memorial Library and the Peace Flag Project to provide an opportunity for children and adults to imagine and communicate "peace". We'll create individual peace flags where children and family will have access to FREE materials to make peace flags. You can then bring home your beautiful peace flags and/or leave some for us to contribute to the PFP's event on September 23. Lots of help from our staff, our partners, parents, our former board of director, and our students themselves. They ROCK! We'll be back again with more photos during the graduation.
