Hey Fam!
Hope Everything is well, Recently the Environmental Justice League has taken on a new campaign against National Grid, Federal Energy Regulatory Committee (FERC), Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, Mayor Jorge Elorza , to stop this expansion project National Grid is in the process of developing at the Port of Providence, Right Across the street from South Side & the Washington Park area. There are many Daycares, Schools, Hospitals, Retirement centers and Family households within the radius of the effects of this Compression site. This community is already faced with the burden of high rates of asthma, ADD, ADHD due to the existing toxins released from the port and the pollution that falls from the highway 95. Not only are we paying for this with our health National Grid wants us to pay for this $100,000,000 out of our pockets, Nation Grid says “we” need this. The same families that they want to pay for this expansion are the same families that are fighting with NG to not shut off their utilities. Please help us fight these injustices by signing on to this petition and sharing (it takes less than a min). Also if you or someone you know lives within this radius and is opposed to this being built in their back yard, on Oct 8th, Sanchez Educational Complex at 6pm FERC will be holding a forum to get community input.
