Millions of girls across Latin America and the Caribbean grow up facing unequal rules that limit their choices, safety and opportunities. Too often, these structural inequalities lead to gender-based violence, child marriage and early pregnancy cutting childhoods short and restricting life paths.

Let’s for girls by challenging deeply rooted gender inequalities and reimagining the rules, so that every girl can play on equal terms.

We’re proud to celebrate our longstanding partnership with Kimberly-Clark through which we have delivered menstrual health programs across nine countries.

From peer educator training to a dedicated menstrual health app, our current work in Brazil, China and Peru is helping girls understand their bodies, normalize periods and step into leadership as changemakers in their communities.

Together, we’re creating real change so every girl can learn, lead and thrive.

When 15-year-old Yaquelin, from Peru, attended a peer‑educators workshop, she realized it was okay to raise her voice.

She now shares what she has learned with others, speaks with leaders and inspires younger girls to believe in themselves and keep going.

“Girls can live again. They can laugh, study and make their dreams come true. I am incredibly proud to have contributed to this,” says Kokila.

On , we’re celebrating her courage and impact.

Myths surrounding menstruation in Kokila’s community meant that girls had to sleep outside their homes and miss several days of school each month.

After joining Plan International’s training course, Kokila learned about menstrual health and how to take care of herself during her period.

Determined to ensure that no girl would ever have to sleep outside again, Kokila began leading information sessions, ultimately helping change social norms.

Today, over 2,000 students in Nepal’s Raskot municipality have access to new toilet facilities and clean drinking water at schools through the program. And girls continue their education during their period.

The Federal Trade Commission officially began enforcing the Take It Down Act, a major milestone in the fight against online abuse and violence, with a new website to submit complaints.

The law requires platforms to remove nonconsensual intimate images, including AI-generated content, within 48 hours of a valid request and creates a clear pathway for victims to seek help.

We are proud to have supported the passage of this critical legislation and will continue working to create safer digital spaces, especially for children and adolescent girls.

Palesa, 17, from Zimbabwe is highlighting the hidden barriers that keep many girls from finishing school in her community.

After almost dropping out, she found her way back to school with Plan’s support, rediscovered her voice through debating, and began learning about her rights.

Today, she is not only a student again, but a young leader determined to help other girls stay in school and imagine a future filled with possibility.

“During menstruation, we can openly talk to the teachers at school and tell them if we have stomach pains or if we need to rest. Then we can go to the restroom.”

Arati is a student in Nepal’s Kalikot district, and not too long ago, that kind of openness wasn’t possible.

Having a period meant missing school. No private space. No pain relief. No one to talk to.

Now, her school has a dedicated restroom to support adolescent girls during menstruation where girls can rest and ask for support.

We’re committed to making sure no girl has to choose between her health and education.

Fighting discrimination and expanding access to menstrual products – that's what we call a double win.

When Fanta, 15, joined one of Plan’s programs, she gained access to training, reproductive health education and period supplies. And the confidence to show up every day.

Fanta had previously faced bullying at her school due to community myths about albinism. Today, she stands proud and ready to help people just like others did for her.

Ensuring every girl has access to menstrual products is not only a health priority; it’s essential to unlocking her full potential.
