🐷 Where Are Dolly & Poppy Now? 🐷
One of the questions we get asked most often is, “What happened to the biters?”
If you followed our hoarding case, you probably remember Dolly and Poppy. They were two of the most passionate biters we’ve ever met. Finding the right homes for them wasn’t easy, but we refused to give up on them because every animal deserves a chance.
Today, we have the happiest update.
Dolly found her forever home with the Molly Foundation, and she is absolutely thriving. She recently received an upgraded barn and pasture, and everyone there adores her. Has she stopped biting? Not exactly. Let’s just say the people who love her know to keep a pig board nearby because Dolly still likes to remind everyone that personal space is negotiable. 😂
But here’s the beautiful part: they don’t love her despite her quirks. They simply love her. Period.
And then there’s Poppy.
Poppy and four of her best friends were adopted by the incredible Melanie and Jay in Mississippi, where they joined a family of seven rescued pigs. All twelve pigs are doing wonderfully.
The original group was extremely skittish when they arrived, but they’re slowly learning that humans can be trusted. They’re coming out of their shells more every day.
And Poppy?
Well, Poppy recently celebrated her SIXTH birthday! 🎂
Her family threw her a birthday party complete with cupcakes, watermelon, and all the attention a princess could want.
She still bites.
They still adore her.
In fact, they’ve discovered something fascinating about Poppy. Even though she has her pig family with her, she seems happiest when she’s around her humans. She follows them, seeks them out, and wants to be part of whatever they’re doing. They’ve even discussed whether bringing her inside as a house pig might be what makes her happiest.
Think about that for a moment.
A pig who many people would have written off because of her behavior is now so loved that her family is considering rearranging their entire lives just to give her what she needs.
That’s what rescue is all about.
Not finding perfect animals.
Finding people willing to love them exactly as they are.
To everyone who adopted pigs from this case, thank you. You have given these animals something they may never have known before: security, patience, understanding, and unconditional love.
And for Dolly and Poppy, two little troublemakers who stole our hearts, we couldn’t be happier.
We still have 60 pigs left! Adopt yours today!
