At 97, Robert "Bob" Conte '51 continues to inspire. 🖤🤍

A longtime teacher and principal, Conte was recently honored at the New Haven Alumni Club’s 65th annual Veritas Awards Dinner for all he has given to his profession, his students, and countless others throughout his remarkable life.

Samantha Marchese '20 stopped in with Conte to hear about his experience as Connecticut's oldest Golden Friar and the memories that shaped his time at PC.

Cheering on these two Friars as they compete on the national stage! 👑

Victoria Cuartas, Ph.D. ’15, ’17G, Miss Rhode Island USA, and Mykala Green, M.A. ’23, Miss Maine USA, are representing their states at the 2026 Miss USA competition in Miami.

Cuartas holds three degrees: global studies, education and mental health counseling, and a doctorate in philosophy and humanities.

Green is an aspiring family attorney and paralegal, and a former captain of the Providence College club figure skating team.

Over seventy years ago, PC put out a call for "old gold and precious stones" to create the college's monstrance, a vessel that holds the consecrated host during Eucharistic adoration and benediction. Alumni and friends resoundingly answered the call and crowd-sourced the creation that is used in St. Dominic Chapel to this day.

Then and now, Friars continue to answer the call and do their part to bring PC beyond limits.
