Community Works Rhode Island Community Works Rhode Island is a community development agency based on the South Side of Providence, Rhode Island

Community Works Rhode Island (CWRI) is a community development corporation formed in July 2008 through the merger of Elmwood Foundation and Greater Elmwood Neighborhood Services. These organizations each had 30 year histories of serving the housing and community development needs of the South Side of Providence, RI during which they invested over $75 million in the local community.

CWRI provides a comprehensive approach to neighborhood stabilization through investment in mixed-income housing, commercial and community space; facilitation of infrastructure, greenspace and streetscape improvements; sustainable management of its assets; community building and organizing; crime prevention and homeownership training, foreclosure counseling and financial literacy classes. CWRI is a charter affiliate of NeighborWorks America.
