Celebrating 60 years of funding non-profit organizations that develop innovative and inclusive programs for individuals with disabilities throughout the State of Rhode Island. Fogarty Foundation for Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities seeks to support inclusive programs, research and organizations that provide services to improve and enhance the quality of life for Rhode Island individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Fogarty inspired citizens to come together to change attitudes that would provide the impetus to support significant legislative action in order to achieve his vision of improving the health and well-being of those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

What a day on the courts! 🏓☀️💚

We’re still reliving all the fun, excitement , and community from the 2026 John E. Fogarty Foundation Pickleball Tournament.

From the first serve to the final point, it was a day filled with great competition, big smiles, and even bigger support for Rhode Islanders with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us for our September 29th Coffee Chat!

These conversations are an important opportunity to listen, learn, and gain valuable insight from the people and organizations doing meaningful work in our community. We’re thankful for the thoughtful discussion, ideas, and perspectives shared around the table.

A special thank you to Meeting Street for hosting us. As an added bonus, a few of us were able to stick around afterward for a tour of the facilities—a wonderful opportunity to see firsthand the inspiring work happening at Meeting Street. 💙

We’re already looking forward to our December Coffee Chat! The date and location will be announced soon.

Good news — the John E. Fogarty Foundation Charity Pickleball Tournament is ON as scheduled for 1:00pm today at Newport Pickleball Club!

After closely monitoring the storm, conditions have improved enough for us to move forward as planned. As always, please travel safely to the event and use caution on the roads.

Newport Pickleball Club is fully operational and ready to go!

We understand some of you may choose not to participate given the weather, and that’s completely okay — if that’s the case, please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust accordingly. You can reach me directly at [email protected] or by cell at 215-868-6668.

🏓 Grab a partner and join us for the John E. Fogarty Foundation Pickleball Tournament! 💚

📅 Sunday, September 27
⏰ 1:00 PM

Teams of two will compete in a Round Robin tournament across four flights, with all skill levels welcome!

🏆 The top eight teams will advance to the championship finals, followed by social play to keep the fun going!

Teams can be men’s, women’s, or mixed doubles — grab your partner and come join the competition!

💚 100% of proceeds support the Fogarty Foundation’s grant-making program and help make our mission possible.
