While the SENECA scholastic chess tournaments wrapped up this past weekend, there will still be opportunities to play in the Nationals in May. For those not attending the Nationals, there will be an ALL AGES event worth attending on May 9, 2026.

Time Controls:Open & U1700 Sections = G/40;+5 = Each player gets 40 min. with +5 sec. increment U1200 & U800 Sections = G/30;+5 = Each player gets 30 min. with +5 sec. increment

That's a wrap! SENECA finished off our scholastic chess season with a terrific event on the BATTLESHIP MASSACHUSETTS. It's always a fun day as the kids compete in the morning and spend most of the afternoon exploring the ship. Thanks to the MANY kids who came out, not just yesterday, but ALL season. Our focus is scholastic chess in RI and local MA and we love it. Lots of fun stuff coming next season starting in September. Enjoy your summer. The tournament runs 1pm-3pm and is followed by watching the HOME OPENER of the RIFC soccer season (game starts at 4pm). So tomorrow's (Feb 28) scholastic chess tournament is cancelled as Fall River continues to deal with the aftermath of the big storm. But we have MANY more tournaments coming up including our next one on Saturday March 7th at Bishop Feehan in Attleboro MA. Hope to see you all there!
