Governor Dan McKee, along with the Rhode Island Office of Energy Resources (OER) and Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) have announced the commencement of phase 2 of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program.

This phase will take a community-based approach, offering an initial $10 million in competitive funding for EV charging infrastructure. Applications for funding are open to public, non-profit, and private entities until February 28, 2025. For more information, click here!

Join DEM’s Office of Air Resources, Ocean State Clean Cities Coalition, and Green Energy Consumers Alliance for a day of family-fun learning about Electric Vehicles (EVs) at Goddard Memorial State Park. Stop by to learn about sustainable transportation, chat with experienced EV drivers, check out the EVs on display, and explore opportunities for test drives. Join in on family-friendly lawn games 🎾 , food, face painting 🎨 , a trunk-or-treat 👻 🍭 , and more!

In addition to electric and hybrid vehicle rebates, Rhode Island residents may now qualify for rebates on residential EV charging stations. The Office of Energy Resources, in collaboration with Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank, recently launched their PowerUpRI rebate program which offers a financial incentive to RI residents who purchase and install EV charging stations in their homes.
