🌿 We're Hiring – Join Our Red Road Mission!

The Rhode Island Indian Council (RIIC) has been awarded a grant through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to raise awareness of su***de prevention and strengthen connections to the 988 Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

We have exciting plans to support Native communities throughout Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, and we are seeking passionate Native American individuals to help develop this program and carry forward our Red Road Mission.

We are currently hiring for three full-time positions:

Program Director
Cultural Engagement Coordinator
Program Support Assistant

We encourage qualified Native American individuals who are passionate about cultural preservation, community wellness, and su***de prevention to apply!

Providence’s arts and culture venues are the heartbeat of our Creative Capital. Mayor Brett P. Smiley and the Department of Art, Culture and Tourism (ACT) are thrilled to announce the Cultural Facilities Improvement Grant, a new grant fund initiative. ACT will distribute $700,000 in grant funding over the next two years to eligible non-profit organizations with public venues in Providence dedicated to showcasing or teaching performance, visual art, writing, music, and dance. By investing in the spaces where artists and audiences meet, we aim to strengthen not only our arts organizations, but the facilities where art is made and experienced.

ACT will hold a Grant Information Session on October 30 – 12-1 PM on Microsoft Teams. To receive the meeting link, RSVP to ACT Deputy Director Rebecca Noon at [email protected].

Over the next few months, during our RI Native Food Distributions, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank’s Healthy Habits Team will be joining us at the Rhode Island Indian Council to prepare tasty recipes and share healthy eating tips!

🍽️ Stop by their table from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM to see what they’re cooking up and get some fresh meal ideas!

While you're here, make it a double visit! Stop in and meet with one of our Case Managers to learn about employment opportunities, job training, and educational assistance available through our programs.
