Earlier this week, award-winning historian Gordon S. Wood passed away. In addition to his decades of teaching at Brown University and authoring numerous books on American History, Gordon Wood served as a scholar on a 1990-91 grant from Rhode Island Humanities that supported the film "Mary Silliman's War," which offers a portrait of the lives of communities during the Revolutionary War through the perspective of a woman and her family. We offer our condolences to the family and friends of Gordon Wood and honor his remarkable legacy of scholarship.
