Did someone say Cash Calendar? This August, the Willow Piedmont foundation is running a cash calendar fundraiser to help raise money for those in need of adaptive equipment or individual water purification equipment. This is an awesome opportunity to help those in need, and also have some fun in the process! Each day in September, Willow Piedmont will use a randomizer to pick one calendar for that day’s winner. The prizes range from $10 all the way up to $100. And the best part? You can win multiple times! If your calendar number is picked, then we enter you back into the drawing to possibly win again. The winners will be paid via Zelle and notified via email! If you’re interested in purchasing a calendar (or a few!) please email [email protected] today!

A couple weeks ago, we told you about a project we're working on with the Jewish Voice foundation. This week, it's officially underway! Together, we will be providing Lifestraw filters to families in Ethiopia and we're so excited for it to finally begin! If you could provide clean water to anyone anywhere in the world, where would you choose?

We're one step closer to clean water for all. Desalination is a great method of providing clean water to people who live near a water source. But, for people who live in a more landlocked location, it can be a little more difficult than that. Current passive technologies help condense atmospheric humidity and turn it into clean drinking water, however that can only be done at night.

Until now.

New science out of Zürich is showing us that there might be a new way to develop clean water around the clock. This is huge! Basically, science is saying that scientists will be able to provide clean water to TWICE the amount of people that they currently can.

This is great news for those who unfortunately do not have easy access to clean water, if at all. And, until the time comes when we are no longer needed, Willow Piedmont will continue working hard to help people who desperately need clean water.

What good news have you heard today?

Partnering with other nonprofit organizations to help families around the world is one of the reasons we love Willow Piedmont. Two weeks ago, we told you that we will be collaborating with Jewish Voices to provide clean water to families in Ethiopia. This week, we're excited to share that we are partnering with them again to provide clean water to families in Israel! This is a great organization and we're thrilled to be working with them on this initiative.

Did you know that a lot of homes aren't actually adapted to fit the needs of individuals with disabilities? And furthermore, did you know that those necessary changes can cost into the $1000's?

If an individual uses a wheelchair, it seems obvious that they have to make sure their wheelchair can actually fit through the doorway of their home. However, here's some modifications that might not immediately come to mind...

-If that home is more than one story, the individual will likely need to install a lift so they can get up and down the stairs

-Bathrooms will need to be modified so that the shower, sink, and toilet are all easily accessible. This could mean simply adding bars to help transition from their wheelchair or it could mean having to re-outfit their whole bathroom

-Kitchens will need potentially to be modified to bring down cabinets and, in some instances, even the workable surfaces like countertops

We believe that no individual should have to leave their home because of their disability. If you agree, head to willowpiedmont.com today to see how you can help!

A few weeks ago, we told you about a fellow charity we worked with called Caritas Smile. Willow Piedmont provided a grant that helped CS provide equipment to hospitals in Dominican Republic. This month, we are helping to provide families and individuals with clean drinking water! We are so excited to continue working with CS and we hope you are too! To find out more about how you can help, head to WillowPiedmont.com.

Well, nobody said it was going to be easy! A good friend of ours informed us that we needed to register our fundraiser with local authorities, and they need 60 days notice. What does this mean?

It means the fundraiser will be in SEPTEMBER! And, as a special Labor Day present to all of you, we have added even more opportunities to win $20! Here are some more highlights of our Cash Calendar Raffle...

-A winner will be chosen every single day for the whole month!
-There are two opportunities to win $100
-Every winner will receive their prize through Venmo (no more waiting for the mailman!)
-Every winner is reentered into the raffle! This means you could win two, three, four, or more times!

Our founder, Marcel, is an Air Force Veteran and so naturally we care very much about the men and women who have served our country. Willow Piedmont Foundation recently provided a grant to a veterans organization to help support handicap veterans. This grant will be used to help provide them with any adaptive equipment they need, and we look forward to helping them again in the future. Your donations truly make a world of good. To find out more about how you can help, head to WillowPiedmont.com.

We are so excited about this one, folks! This August, we will be drawing a winner every day to win a $10, $25, or $100 Amazon gift card! Calendars will cost $10 and go on sale later this month. Are you feeling lucky?

Adaptive equipment is so much more than just wheelchairs. I just saw my son André last Friday and the group home where he lives needs a new control motor for a lift in their common area. This helps facilitate patient transfers from wheelchairs to beds and so forth. This is exactly why Willow Piedmont started our Adaptive Equipment Initiative. With your donations, we can provide either this piece or a grant so that Oak Hill, the group that manages the group home, can order it themselves.
