📣 NEW: We're adding Saturday open shop hours!

Starting next week, our shop will be open from 11am - 2pm on the first Saturday of every month.

Don't worry, our weekly volunteer nights and open shops aren't going anywhere – they'll still be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, respectively. We hope to see you at the shop!

The Providence Bike Collective is building out a gear library! It's like a regular library, but instead of books, we lend out bikepacking gear like tents, stoves, bike bags, and more.

"Bikepacking" or bike camping is when you carry all your gear with you on your bike to go on an overnight (or multi-night) bike trip, usually off the beaten path. It's an extremely fun and empowering way to use your bicycle, but obtaining the gear to do so can be very cost-prohibitive.

That's where the gear library comes in! Our vision is to have a library of items that are available to borrow so people can go on these kinds of adventures without the financial barrier.

We need to build out our library before we can start lending things out, and are seeking donations from the community. If you have any new or gently-used backpacking or bikepacking gear you'd like to donate, check out the link in our bio to see our wishlist and learn how to donate your stuff!

If you have any questions, please get in touch with us via Instagram DM or via email at [email protected]

We are really excited about this project and hope you are too!

Hi all!

Coming at ya with more workshop series goodness!

We have one new workshop, as well as an update to previously announced workshops. Please remember all workshops require signing up at the form (link in bio) to attend – we cannot guarantee spots in any of our workshops but will do our best to accommodate you and get you in your preferred workshop if you sign up for multiple.

(NEW) Build a PC
(POSTPONED) S24O: Intro to Bike Overnights – this has been postponed to March! If you didn't sign up before because the date didn't work, check it out!

Eagle-eyed observers may have noticed our "workshop a workshop" workshop was also removed from our sign up form – we needed to postpone this one as well, but don't have a new date yet. However if you're interested in teaching something in our space, don't hesitate to reach out!

Yay learning!

The PBC workshop series is BACK! Come learn practical hands-on skills with us – no experience required!

If you already feel comfortable with these skills, we ask you to make space for those who are newer to them. All workshops are pay-what-you-can, $0-20, and will be held at our shop at 50 Sims Ave, Providence!

We're kicking things off with the following workshops:
Intro to Web Development
Intro to Electrical
S24O: Bike Overnights For Beginners
Seed Starting
..with many more to come!

Because we expect more interest than we have spots for, please note that signing up *does not* mean you are guaranteed a spot - we will confirm with you via email at least one week before the workshop. We are trying to make sure that as many people get to participate in at least one workshop as possible :)

These slides contain very brief overviews of what the workshops entail, our sign up form has much more in-depth descriptions. Check out the link in our bio to sign up!!! We look forward to learning with you!

(P.S. If you're interested in teaching a workshop, but don't know where to start, we will be hosting another "Workshops workshop" soon... stay tuned!)

Thank you to for the wonderful art!

Providence Bike Collective stands with Palestine.
Though we are a small organization here in Rhode Island, our collective liberation is intrinsically linked with that of oppressed people globally.

We are told there is no money to fund even the bare minimum public transit and bike infrastructure in America, meanwhile the government uses our tax dollars to fund a genocide overseas. This injustice is unacceptable.

Please consider getting involved with and donating to organizations that are out here demanding justice. and .pvd are both doing important work in solidarity with Palestine right now.

From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.
