New Hope Pantry is privileged to share the love of Christ with those in need. New Hope Pantry depends on, and accepts donations year round to help maintain the quality and quantity of food needed to supply the ever-increasing need. Info for Shoppers: Do not arrive any earlier than 10 minutes prior to opening, $10 donation per household is suggested to help defray costs such as fuel and electricity.

After 24 years of serving weekly or twice weekly, the areas of New Kent, Charles City, Sandston and many folks and other ministries within a 2 hour radius, New Hope is shifting gears. Since 2002, we have served food, clothes, household goods, mobility items, furniture, household supplies, personal care items and more. When we began, there was no one else serving Charles City or some of the food desert areas. However, now, several, great food pantries have been formed to serve these areas. We do not need to duplicate services, and as a church, our first and foremost mission is to spread the good news of God to all the world. After 24 years, we find ourselves now serving the next generation of some of the same families. We have poured God's love into our shoppers (our friends) for many years. Some have even chosen to become part of the New Hope Family and our lives are richer for it. Now, God is leading us in a different direction. It will still involve food, but instead of passing out groceries in the parking lot, we will be sharing God and fellowshipping through prepared meals, as Jesus did. This is where the majority of the giftings in our church lie. We are excited about the change, and are still working out all the details. While many community members saw the vastness of the pantry ministry, most did not see how many seniors and widows were being served through prepared meals within our own church family. This is the area we want to grow. The need is great, and the commandment is clear; take care of the older widows. As we prayerfully walk through this change, please pray for us, and pray that all of our friends realize, as we have told them many times, New Hope is not their provider. God is. And His resources have not changed. We are excited to let go of the reins and follow God wherever He leads. Much has been learned through our experience, a huge network has been built, and deep friendships have been forged. We are forever grateful. We fed your body yesterday, now let us feed you soul! Join New Hope this morning at 10:30 (same location as pantry) as we welcome Romy and Kaye Capuli, missionaries to / from the Philippines! You won't want to miss meeting this amazing couple and hearing about their work for God's Kingdom, using something as simple as a basketball!

Thank you all who came out for a last minute Pop Up Pantry! Our New Hope Youth left at 7 this morning to go on a hike in the Shenandoah mountains. They arrived back at 5pm right when Pantry was opening. The young girl in the green shirt, chose to stay and load cars for those who needed help. Another volunteer came after cleaning houses all day just to clean up the cardboard and trash. Our men were on the truck all day, going to West End, back to unload, then off to Suffolk and back in time for Pantry. They will be going back out again tomorrow as well. Our skilled neighbor came to run the forklift and unload it all for our shoppers to access. Several other volunteers offered their time to sort and repackage. We can't say it enough, we are surrounded by very special people that make this all happen. Many were blessed today with way more than bread and cheese. We just never know what surprises God has for us when we roll up the back door of the truck!
