We have the certificate and will be moving forward very soon.

We are currently awaiting the Association Certificate from the State of Washington. Once we have this in place then we can begin the real work :)

Thanks to the Prosser City Council's action last night, we are official! Next up, our initial organizing meeting. We'll be filing with the state as a nonprofit in the next few days. From there, we need to do things like buy insurance and figure out how we are going to fund ourselves.

Our Prosser Sister Cities Association organizational meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 19th, at 6 PM in the Prosser City Council Chambers. If you cannot make it but still have an interest in being involved, please let us know.

The much awaited Prosser Sister Cities Association organizing meeting is coming in the next few weeks. We'll post details here when they are confirmed.

11/22/2011

I'll be organizing a meeting in the next few weeks for those in Prosser interested in getting involved with the Prosser Sister Cities Association, either as board members or as general members.

I'm spending the afternoon organizing the Prosser Sister Cities Association bylaws, articles of incorporation, and things that need City Council action to get it all going. If all goes well, we'll have things formalized by the end of this year.

I attended the Washington Sister Cities Association conference in Bellevue on Saturday. Lots of great information! We are getting very close to forming our association. I intend to go back to the City Council before the end of the year. I'm also getting closer to bringing some Georgian wine into Prosser. The holy grail is getting some wine from Vani, or the at least Western Georgia, into Prosser. We'll get there eventually. There is also the possibility of hosting a delegation from Vani in December so stay tuned!

We will have two Chinese MPA students in our office the week of October 10th through the 14th. We need one more host family. If you can host, please let me know. We need a host family for four nights, Monday through Thursday.

09/09/2011

I am in touch with a USAID wine-focused delegation that is heading to Georgia in a few weeks. They will be providing technical assistance to Georgia's most prominent wineries. A main focus of the trip is to help wineries export to the US. If anyone out there in the US has an interest in helping to sell Georgian wine or in establishing some joint ventures, let us know in the next week and the delegation will carry your information to the Georgian wineries for further discussion.

09/09/2011

The Georgian delegation is still planning to come later in the fall. We have 1-2 Chinese MPA students from a program at Central Washington University joining us from October 10 through the 15th. We will be looking for a host family if there are 2.

08/23/2011

Our delegation is having some issues with getting visas to come to the US. We'll keep you posted but for now, planning is on hold for the visit.
