Baskets of Wishes
Halloween Candy Collection 2022 Drive

Hey Friends,

Baskets of Wishes is collecting unopened bags of Halloween candy as well as Trick or Treated candies, to be donated to various places which help veterans, Cancer patients, and Military retirees.

We started collecting candy and donating them to the Murtha Cancer Center’s patients 7 years ago during Halloween. What started out as a small group of children (my kids and their friends) who got together and trick or treated at nearly every house in our neighborhood collecting 42.5 lbs. of candy the first year, 50lb the year after that, and 2018 we collected and donated 97.5 lbs., in 2019 we donated close to 190 lbs. and in 2021 200 lbs. and last year also close to 200 lbs. of candies and snacks and drinks (Juices, water bottles, sodas, etc.)

This year, 2022, we have decided to work with the Department of Veteran Affairs in Plano, TX, Baylor, Scott & White, McKinney, TX and Celina Fire Department.
The candy that is collected will be used to help those patients who are undergoing chemotherapy and people who are undergoing other treatments in their battle with Cancer or any other life threatening disease. Since the year, 2020 time has been a challenging one for everyone, we are hoping to bring some sweetness into the lives of those who are suffering silently.

We targeting around 220lbs of candy, snacks and drinks to be collected and donated.

The donated candies will be distributed among the various groups.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!
We were reached out by two families that have been diagnosed with chrinic health issue/ concerns…. My family, as many of you know, runs a Non-Profit (Basket of Wishes), which donates to cancer patients, people of special requirements, other chronically ill patients, first reaponders, etc. Today I am reaching out to all of you to see if anyone would like to sponsor food, Groceries, snacks, Drinks, gifts cards (Target, Walmart, Amazon, etc.) please let me know of anyone is interested in donating- please drop items off at my house and we can drop at the patients’ house. Please find below the items which were requested- Keep in mind two of these families have children in School so they need help in getting snacks, juice packs, lunchables, pantry groceries( such as Pasta, Pasta sauces, canned corn, Beans, tomato soups, etc).

We are looking for:
1.) Chips (snack packs for school)
2.) cereals (Nut Free)
3.) Fruit Snacks (Motts, Whelchs) etc.
4.) Juice packs
5.) Sparkling flavored water (No Sodas)
6.) Gatorades (Small ones they can take to school In lunch boxes)
7.) pasta (Shells, Spaghetti, Lasagna, etc)
8.) marinara sauce
9.) Fruits (Apples, Oranges, mandarines, Grapes, etc)
10.) Pretzel snack packs
11.) popcorn
12.) Pizza Sauce

We need doubles of everything tonhelp BOTH families…

Giftcard Target is :$500 and above
So far we collected: $300

We will be collecting these items from Now (Aug 31,2022) until the end of Next week(Sept 10th)

Did a back to school drive and donated the supplies to Lifeline Church, which helps foster parents take care of their foster children.
Donated about 5 /6 backpacks and tons of supplies!!

Movie Themed popcorn gift buckets are ready for delivery...This year due to COVID-19 we are all unable to meet up with friends at the movies. BoW has chose to make 120 popcorn and movie themed gift buckets to be distributed to a Denton, TX veterans Affairs and oncology patients at Baylor, Scott & White hospital....

We have collected OVER 160 lbs of candy this year!!

In Lue of Thanksgiving month- Baskets of Wishes collaborated with Panera Bread and donated around 120+ loaves of bread to Firefighters , First responders and families of veterans... thank you Paneera Bread!!
