This is a critical opportunity for us to come together as a community and stay informed. Even if you're just learning about this issue, your presence and voice matter.

Please join us tonight, July 21 at 6:00 PM at the Cardinal Harbour Clubhouse.

Feel free to forward to neighbors who may not be aware.

Neighborhood Meeting: Cell Pole/Tower Update
Monday, July 21 at 6:00 PM at the Clubhouse

Hi neighbors,
We’re holding a community meeting next Monday 7/21 to share an important update regarding the proposed cell poles in our area.

After filing an open records request, we’ve confirmed that there are plans to place: 4 poles within Cardinal Harbour (and 12 poles within a 2-mile radius—stretching from Riverside Drive up to Settlers Pointe).

At the meeting, we’ll:
* Share what we’ve uncovered through public records
* Discuss what Crown Castle has submitted (or not)
* Talk about potential next steps we can take as a neighborhood

Whether you’re new to this issue or have been following closely, we encourage you to attend. It’s important for us to stand together as a community and make sure Crown Castle follows the proper application process with the county.

Please help spread the word. We hope to see you there!

For those of you who currently have water in your homes. There are a few things that you can do now to plan for when the water recedes:
For Flood Insurance claims, contact NFIPDirect via phone to (800) 767-4341 to start a claim. Their online system is not quite working now. So, it is best to call them to get in the queue. Once in the queue, eventually, a claims adjuster should be contacting you. to arrange to view and assess the damage. Wait for this contact to be made prior to cleaning up to ensure you get the damage properly assessed.
Line up persons to help clean-up and properly sanitize your homes where there was water located.
Line up persons to make necessary repairs.
VERY IMPORTANT - A licensed electrician must make the repairs for any electrical wiring or appliances that were submerged. This is because Oldham County Building and Inspection Divisions have specific guidelines to follow prior to providing a permit for allowing LG & E to restore power. You can view these guidelines on LG & E's website at:

The ever-increasing McAlpine Upper Gage is at 35.5 feet today. Please don't think this is going to be the final crest. This is just the projection today. I know several houses will take on water at 35 to 36 feet. It is beginning to look like 1997 again.

Due to the recent heavy rainfall, Louisville MSD’s sanitary sewer system has reached its capacity, and we need your help. To prevent further complications, we are asking residents to refrain from using large amounts of water that flow into the sewer system—please delay using your washing machine or dishwasher.

Our team is currently receiving a high volume of calls regarding sanitary backups. If you are experiencing a backup, please wait until the rain subsides to see if the water levels decrease. Once the rain has stopped, and if the water does not recede, please contact us at 502-540-6000.

The latest projection today is 33.7 feet. The water is coming in the lower levels of the townhouses on the river side. Also, those close to the end of the neighborhood on the other non-river side may want to ask their neighbors if it came in anywhere in 2018.

Right now it is projected to come in the middle of the night between Sunday and Monday. However, this could change depending on the rain we get in the next couple of days.

FOR PEOPLE LIVING ON THE RIVER AND NEARBY FLOOD ZONES - PLEASE READ THIS POST AND PLAN AHEAD: This post is to alert folks for the potential flooding that may occur later this week. The graph below shows the current projected flood levels for the McAlpine Upper Gage on the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (www.NOAA.gov). The significance of this graph is that it is the first projection. What is different in this graph from the graphs of the flood we had in late February is that the graph is going straight up from 12.9 feet to 28.0 feet in 48 hours or less. This graph is based upon past precipitation and precipitation amounts expected approximately 48 hours in the future from the forecast issue time. This graph will also change daily. Forecasts on the news are saying we are in an area that may receive up to 12 inches of rain. For those of you who did not live in Cardinal Harbour in 1997, this scenario looks very similar to 1997.

The last two photos are not based upon precipitation. However, they are two different probability simulations provided on the same web site.

MOST IMPORTANT: STAY SAFE. THIS FLOOD MAY HAVE VERY SWIFT WATER. If you live on the river side, you should be prepared to have your electricity off where the water will be coming in. LG&E did not show up until the water had already flooded homes in 2018. When LG&E did arrive, they turned off all power. If you have generators, make sure they are working properly. Have cell phones and any other batteries charged and have flashlights ready. Move whatever valuables that you want to save from the flood as soon as you are certain the water will be coming in. Some people have used Pods or moving trucks in the past. Make sure you have water and easy to prepare food on hand. You may want to have propane for a grill. The townhouses flood somewhere around 31 and 32 feet depending on their location. You can normally google the McAlpine Upper Gage, and it will show up on the website.
