Hope at the farm

Hope at the farm Hope at the farm started with a very simple hand painted breast cancer ribbon in our yard.... I have been battling breast cancer for over 2 years.

I have had a double mastectomy, chemo and a hysterectomy. It is so important that people fighting this disease and the friends, family and loved ones fighting along side of them can connect with others going through the same thing. In the days to come, we will be opening up or yard to allow people to get their picture taken with the breast cancer ribbon that is painted in our yard. We are also ass

embling chemo bags to distribute as well as cookies and beverages. When we know the exact date, we will update everyone.

Breast cancer awareness month is so important!! This has been a crazy year, but look for updates for next October. We will be having another event and the ribbon will be back!!! My cancer doctor has left and is moving to Erie. Any recommendations for a highmark cancer doctor are greatly appreciated đź’•đź’•đź’•

Covid has taken so much from all of us. We decided to wait until next year to have a one day event. I will still be donating chemo bags in Natrona heights at the cancer center and at the cancer center in Butler. Our prayers are with every cancer fighter, covid fighter and everyone who has been enduring loss in their lives. I pray everyday that 2022 will be a better year for all of us. If you do know of a cancer fighter in need, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I can and will always do anything I can for people in need.

I hope everyone is doing well! We will be painting the ribbon in the yard this weekend or next weekend depending on the weather. We still have shirts for sale! Because of COVID we will not be having a “public” event. EVERYONE and ANYONE can come and get pictures with the ribbon anytime they want after this weekend or next weekend. Please please please get your mammograms! We are praying next October COVID will no longer be a “thing” and we can have a one day event to raise money and awareness for BREAST CANCER!

This weekend was great! I can’t wait to drop off the most amazing Christmas bags to the chemo centers with the $856 we raised this weekend! Our vision for the future is so exciting. We will be registering as a non profit organization and will continue to make chemo bags for cancer patients. Our goal in the near future, is to provide help to women to pay their copays for their mammograms and mris. Someday we hope to provide free mammograms to women who are unable to get one because of a lapse in health insurance and other extenuating circumstances. Early detection is so important. Many women wait because they are unable to afford mammograms. Thank you all again.

So glad my neighbors made it to our benefit and won a basket! Traci Shearer Randy Shearer❤️

What an amazing day! Unfortunately, I was sick most of the day and still not feeling well. I toughed it out as much as I possibly could and I met several AMAZING people. Shawn Coddington was also not feeling well, but he manned the event and I am so thankful. My sister Heidi came early and pitched in. Damen Mcdermott, Carlee McDermott, Erin McDermott, And Tricia Rieger Craig helped all day and I am so thankful. WE RAISED OVER $500! Tomorrow we will be doing it again from 10am-6pm. We have lots of free items that anyone can come and pick up for ANY cancer patient. Hope to see you all tomorrow.
