Every worm, every insect, every bird, every animal is working for ecological wellbeing of the planet, only we humans, who claim to be the most intelligent species here, are not doing that.

We keep calling it development…

but what kind of progress destroys the very thing that keeps us alive?

Every tree we cut removes shade.
Every forest we lose takes away birds, animals, clean air, rain, and life.

A concrete city without nature is not success.

It is a warning.

Because when nature disappears…

we don’t just lose beauty.

We lose our future.

Plant trees. Protect forests. Protect life. 🌱🌍

It’s nesting season! And most of the young birds you’re likely to see out and about are actually fledglings. These are birds that have left the nest right on schedule. They’re still learning to fly while being fed by their parents. They might look small and scruffy, but this is a normal stage of development, and it’s important to let them be raised by their parents.

So, let’s answer the question: Does that bird need help?

🐤 If the bird is a nestling (naked or partially naked) —Yes. Return the bird to the nest or bring the bird to a wildlife rehabber.

🐤 If the bird is a fledgling (fully covered in feathers, even if scruffy, and can stop or hop) — No. Leave them to be raised by their parents, who are nearby and feeding them.

🐤 If the bird is cold, lethargic, covered in bugs or injured —Yes. Please bring the bird to a wildlife rehabber.

🐤 If the bird is in a dangerous spot, like a road — Yes, a little. You can move them into a bush or onto a ledge, but only a few feet away! Their parents must be able to find them.

If you’re not sure, please send us a photo or ask a wildlife rehabber near you.

*Please never give food or water. We know it’s tempting, but this almost always causes harm.*

This Red-Tail Hawk pair created a nest high atop the side of this building near Grand Army Plaza.
With three young depending on their parents for their very survival, mom had to be rescued last week from ingesting rodenticide -she was on the ground and soaked after the many days of rain.

She was rescued and brought to Wild Bird Fund where she was treated for a week. Folks monitored the nest and saw that thankfully Dad was feeding them.

She was released on Friday after a week of treatment.

Please watch this amazing video of her release!
Thanks to the team at Wild
bird Fund who treated her and got her back on her wing!!

💔💔💔💔💔We are begging our community… PLEASE LEAVE FAWNS ALONE.💔💔💔💔💔
Every single day we are getting messages and emails from people who have already picked up a fawn and then ask how to care for it😡😖😡
This is NOT okay!!! This is NOT legal!!! And this is NOT helping!!!!
If you see a fawn alone for a few hours, that does NOT mean it’s abandoned!!!
Mother deer intentionally leave their babies hidden while they go off to feed. She WILL come back!!!!!!!!!!
When you take that baby you are ILLEGALLY removing wildlife from the wild!!!!
You are causing extreme stress to the fawn!!!!💔
You are separating it from a mother who is actively caring for it💔
Now instead of a healthy baby waiting safely for mom YOU'VE created an orphan that did not need to be one!!!!
Please understand this clearly
Do NOT touch, move, or “rescue” a fawn without speaking to a licensed wildlife professional FIRST!!!!
If you’re reaching out to US , WAIT for a response before doing anything!!!!
We cannot undo the damage once that baby is taken💔.
This is getting completely out of control, and it is costing fawns their lives.💔💔💔
We are literally begging you LEAVE THE FAWNS WHERE THEY ARE!!!!!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Mom is nearby. Let HER do HER job!!!
