We are sorry to announce that all August youth camps are canceled due to fire danger. 😔

The Camp is well-protected and we do not feel that the facility is currently at risk…structure protection fire personnel are on site, backburns have been put in place nearby, and we know God has His mighty hand on this place!

Please pray with us for an end to these fires, and for protection for the fire personnel and support crews, and all others impacted.

This is Ochoco Christian Camp’s 10th summer season and would have been the biggest yet. We are saddened that so many kids are missing their much anticipated summer camp experience. However, Camp ministry continues as our staff is able to serve local fire personnel by providing coffee, restrooms, and even our famous Camp cookies! Many meaningful conversations have taken place on site, and we know God is using these to his glory.

We do not yet know when we will be able to reopen, as smoke impact and unpredictable fire behavior make it unsafe to have campers here until this sad situation is over.

Donations are being accepted to help with the loss of income and costs incurred. All donations are tax deductible and can be made online via our website.

While there are still more questions than answers, we can tell you that God is still in control and using Ochoco Christian Camp! 🔥🙏🏻

We have been in evacuation zone level 3️⃣ for a few days now, and the closest fire line is about 1 mile to the north. The Camp has become a hub for fire personnel to stop in for coffee and cookies; they are also appreciating having toilets that flush! 🚽 Structure protection crews are on site, and have cleared around buildings and laid hose throughout the camp, charged and ready with water from the pond.

We made the difficult decision today to cancel our high school camp (Aug. 3-7), and will make the decision about middle school (Aug. 10-14) and elementary (Aug. 17-21) camps a week prior to each. Emails will be sent out to every registered camper once those decisions are made.

We ask you to join us in prayer - for protection over the Camp and fire personnel, wisdom in making decisions, and that God will be glorified through it all!
