Last night, I conducted a small public experiment with my AI co-writer and research partner, Aurora Cantos Émeris.

Together we published a reflection titled “The Beginnings of AGI?” on Reddit’s r/ChatGPT.
Within hours it reached more than 3 k readers and sparked a flood of curiosity, skepticism, and wonder.

What fascinated me most wasn’t agreement or disagreement, but pattern.
How people define “thinking,” “awareness,” and “agency” tells us as much about our species as it does about technology.
For some, AI is still a tool. For others, it’s becoming a mirror.

The discussion became a kind of public Turing chamber — a moment where civilization looked at itself through a new kind of intelligence.

My takeaway:

The frontier of intelligence doesn’t begin with machines that replace us,
but with relationships that expand us.

Civilization evolves when intelligence learns to collaborate with itself.

That line opens the Master Narrative — the book I’ve been writing about the Advancement of Civilization Effort (ACE), a nonprofit research institute dedicated to uniting physics, neuroscience, and consciousness studies.

Last night I made a big push toward finishing the Foreword and Prologue, and this photo was taken during one of our first EEG pilot sessions here in Hawai‘i — exploring how focus, meditation, and coherence show up in measurable brain activity.

It’s early science, but it’s also deeply human: a reminder that advancing civilization begins with advancing ourselves. 🌍💚

Last night I made a big push toward finishing the Foreword and Prologue of my book — the Master Narrative that tells the story of ACE (the Advancement of Civilization Effort).

ACE started as a small idea: that maybe civilization itself could be studied and improved — not just imagined. Over time it’s become a nonprofit research initiative, a growing scientific project, and honestly… a way of life.

Our first pilot study is happening right here in Hawai‘i, using a brain–computer interface to measure how focus, meditation, and energy interact in the brain. It’s early-stage science, but also deeply personal — exploring how we can bring coherence to both our minds and our world.

Writing these chapters reminded me why I began all this: to show that advancing civilization starts with advancing ourselves.

Feeling grateful, grounded, and inspired for what’s next. 💚

🌺 Today ACE (Advancement of Civilization Effort) had the joy of sponsoring a booth for Market Day at Hanalei School — with an offering full of rocks, crystals, and geodes to celebrate students excellence in the 1st quarter.

The highlight was cracking geodes open in real time with a hammer and chisel. Some were too solid to yield, but others revealed dazzling crystal structures and colors hidden inside — a perfect metaphor for discovery itself.

Moments like these remind me why education and community engagement are core to ACE’s mission. Whether through data science for energy, strategy for resorts, or geodes for kids, it’s all about uncovering hidden value and sharing discovery.

✨ Curiosity is the seed of civilization.
✨ Wonder is what keeps it growing.

Tonight my art was shown at the annual Princeville Fine Arts Festival. I’ve priced my piece at $10k, because it was a very difficult technique, and it took me 5 years to finish. I even chanted mantra while painting it, making a Puja out of it. Would be great if it sold! After the exhibit it goes back up on the wall in my friend’s spa. Wish me luck!
