Thank you, Princeville!!! Community events like this only happen when the community shows up & y’all SHOWED UP, rain and all!
From The Project 919 Band’s music and DJ Marquis A. Crews keeping the energy up, to a good meal from Gage’s House Of Smoke and Pitt Master Joe Moss, refreshing drinks from Rich Flavors, and sweet treats from Frozen Crystals, there was so much to enjoy and celebrate! We hope you enjoyed Andre Taylor’s Keynote Address and the Sankofa Story with Toni Thorpe!
There was also an opportunity to learn more about the future of Princeville, with Toole Design and Biohabitat on site to share progress on the Princeville Heritage Trail Expansion and gather community feedback on the project’s next phase. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, and shared their thoughts.
We’re grateful to everyone who shared their time, work, and resources with the community, including the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, Biker Girls, and Girl Scouts. Thank you to Commissioner Vananza Brown for looking out for everyone’s safety and tracking down detour signs, and a special thank you to St. Luke Church of Christ for letting us use their parking lot!
Most of all, thank you to the Princeville community for continuing to show up, celebrate together, and make Homecoming something we can look forward to year after year.
