We know Medicare beneficiaries often receive a mountain of mail, and it can be tempting to set it aside. But in the coming months, be sure to pull out and review a few important Medicare documents that can help you prepare for Medicare's Fall Open Enrollment period.

βœ… Original Medicare: Watch for your Medicare & You handbook, typically mailed in September. It includes information about Medicare benefits and costs for the upcoming year.

βœ… Medicare Advantage or Part D Prescription Drug Plan: Watch for your plan's Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) and Evidence of Coverage (EOC). These documents explain any changes to costs, covered drugs, provider networks, pharmacies, benefits, and coverage rules for next year.

Even if you're happy with your current coverage, plans can change from year to year. Take time to confirm that your providers, pharmacies, and prescription medications will still be covered and that your plan continues to meet your needs. Reviewing these notices now can help you get ready for Medicare Open Enrollment, which runs from October 15 through December 7.

Need help reviewing your options? Your State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) offers unbiased Medicare counseling and can help you compare plans and understand your coverage choices at no cost to you.

Depression is not a normal part of aging.

Yet many older adults experience depression in silence because they believe they should simply "push through it" or keep their struggles to themselves.

The truth is that depression is a health condition, not a personal failure.

Talking about it is not a sign of weakness.
Seeking support is not something to be ashamed of.
And asking for help is one of the most important steps toward healing.

If you or someone you love has been struggling, start the conversation.

Because no one should have to face depression alone.
