Hey friends! We've heard from several people who aren't able to attend our Hope Under the Stars Gala but still want to support this incredible evening, hosted by Andrea and Matt White and presented by Jerry and Cindy Richie!

We would love to turn that generosity into an opportunity to bless and honor some of our foster and kinship families, along with our DCS friends, who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend!

Thankful Thursday!

Some people have a way of showing up, year after year, with a heart to serve. Amy is one of those people!

Today, we want to give a special THANK YOU to Amy, her family, and everyone at The Gaming Guild for their continued generosity and for collecting pajamas for the children we serve!

As a former board member, longtime volunteer, and incredible friend of The Isaiah 1:17 Project, Amy has poured so much love, time, and energy into our mission. Her commitment to children and families impacted by foster and kinship care has been such a blessing over the years.

Something as simple as a new pair of pajamas can bring comfort, dignity, and a sense of belonging to a child walking through a difficult season. And because of people like Amy and the wonderful community around The Gaming Guild, we can keep sharing that love in tangible ways.

Amy, thank you for never losing sight of why this work matters. Thank you to your family for sharing your hearts with us, and to The Gaming Guild for turning generosity into action.

We are so grateful for each of you and the many ways you've helped us value every child and serve fostering families.

Our Miss Beauty for Ashes 2026 is already making an impact beyond the pageant!

Whitley brought in several items for our recent Meet the Need Monday, helping us get one step closer to gathering the supplies needed for a craft for our Fortifying Fostering Families (F3) program.

Now, who’s going to help us complete the rest of the list?

We’re still collecting 16 medium mason jars (with lids), colored pony beads, rice (not for consumption), and food coloring to help bring this project together for our F3 families.

Pastors, coffee is on us!

We’d love to take a few minutes to connect with the pastors who serve our community. Join us at Port Side Coffee Company on October 27, anytime between 9 a.m. and noon, for a free drink of your choice and a treat.

This week, we’re collecting supplies for a hands-on activity for families enrolled in our Fortifying Fostering Families (F3) program.

As part of our upcoming Family Fun Night, we’re preparing a craft for our F3 families. Activities like these give families opportunities to explore practical resources they can use in their everyday lives, and we’re looking for donations to help bring this project together.

We’re collecting medium mason jars with lids (16 oz.), colored pony beads, rice (not for consumption), and food coloring.

My heart is just so full after yesterday’s Beauty for Ashes Pageant!

I was so blessed to have a few moments to share just how grateful I am for everyone who has poured into this pageant and The Isaiah 1:17 Project over the years.

I especially want to recognize our past pageant directors, Amanda Parker and Amber Kern, and now Lisa and Janesse Sherman, who have stepped up and worked so hard to make this event special. And it isn't just about the day of the pageant! Throughout the year, they continue to find ways to bring people together, encourage volunteers, and support the work we're doing for children and families. That means more to me than they probably realize.

I also want to give an extra special thank you to Jackie and Brad Saum, who have helped so much behind the scenes, and to the many others who have given their time, resources, and hearts to make this possible.

I've loved seeing all the pictures and posts from yesterday! Seeing the excitement of the contestants, from the littlest ones and our Little Misters to the girls and women of all ages, and seeing their families and friends cheering them on has just warmed my heart.

One of the things I love most about Beauty for Ashes is that it really is about so much more than a pageant. It's about kids helping kids, women of all ages coming together, and families using their time and talents to make a difference in the lives of others. What a beautiful opportunity to teach the next generation the importance of giving back and serving others!

And they ARE making a difference!

The support that comes through this pageant helps us continue the work we do every day at The Isaiah 1:17 Project, walking alongside children and families impacted by foster and kinship care. I wish every person who has been part of this could see firsthand how much their kindness and generosity mean to the families we serve.

To every contestant, parent, grandparent, volunteer, sponsor, director, and everyone who has played a part in this over the years, thank you!

There are so many people who quietly give and serve without ever expecting recognition, but please know that you are appreciated.

I'm just so grateful for the hearts behind this pageant and for the way God continues to bring people together to love and serve others.

Thank you for being part of something that means so much to us and to the children and families we have the privilege of serving!

A special thank you to our judges and all the pageant royalty who joined us yesterday! And a huge congratulations to each of our new Beauty for Ashes ambassadors! I can't wait to see the difference you'll continue making throughout the coming year!

A long drive and a quick trip, but full of learning, worship and meaningful conversations!

We’re so thankful for the incredible donors who made it possible for our team to attend the Christian Alliance for Orphans (CAFO) Summit in Atlanta. We spent a powerful few days learning and connecting with others serving children and families through foster care, kinship care, and adoption.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to invest in our team, learn together, and bring ideas and encouragement home to the work we do every day.

Thank you to everyone who made this trip possible. Your generosity gave us time to grow together and learn how we can better support children and families here at home.

Beauty for Ashes. A reminder that something beautiful can rise from even the most difficult circumstances.

Tomorrow, we have the privilege of celebrating something truly special!

The Beauty for Ashes Pageant is more than crowns, dresses, and a moment in the spotlight. It is about children using their gifts, their voices, and their hearts to make a difference in the lives of other children.

Kids Helping Kids. What a powerful thing to witness!

Every child deserves to know they are valued, loved, and worthy of being celebrated. And every child has the ability to be part of something bigger than themselves.

We are incredibly grateful to the organizers, participants, families, and supporters who are making this event possible and choosing to invest in children and families impacted by foster care.

All proceeds benefit The Isaiah 1:17 Project, helping us continue bringing hope, encouragement, and practical support to children and families in our communities.

Happy Birthday, Macey!

We took a few minutes yesterday to celebrate Macey, one of our work-based learning students, and we’re so glad she’s part of our team!

She’s been phenomenal, and we appreciate her thoughtful questions, fresh insights and eagerness to learn about our programs and the families we serve.

We even managed to work some program conversation into the celebration. Apparently, around here, birthdays come with a side of brainstorming!

Macey, we’re grateful for you and hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Applications have been extended until October 15!

The Isaiah 1:17 Project and Moore Guitars are teaming up to give TWO young people, ages 12–16, impacted by foster and kinship care the opportunity to receive a brand-new guitar and begin learning to play.

Moore Guitars is generously donating two high-quality entry-level guitars to help launch this special opportunity, along with an initial lesson for each young person selected.

After that, The Isaiah 1:17 Project will help connect each recipient with a mentor who can answer questions, offer encouragement, and occasionally connect through video or in person as they continue learning.

No previous experience is needed. We are simply looking for young people who are interested in learning to play, willing to practice, and excited about the opportunity.
