“You can love completely without complete understanding.”
From one of my favorite movies, “A River Runs Through It” directed by Robert Redford
Makes me wonder if I’ll ever understand why I love fishing so much! The fluttering nerves as I scout and try to be patient. The sheer thrill when I feel a tug. Trying not to get distracted by the beauty of Nature all around me. Trying not to be disappointed when I lose one.
So thankful I’m surrounded by Chapter members who feel the same way I do!

Ever fished the Connetquot River? Our Chapter does! Every year a group of anglers make the drive from Central New Jersey to Long Island for one of our annual fishing trips 🎣
From the website: “Connetquot River State Park Preserve maintains 3,473 acres of land and water for the protection and propagation of game birds, fish and animals.”

Our country’s outdoor traditions depend on maintaining strong safeguards for roadless areas. And the numbers agree.

In a new report, breaks down what’s at stake if the U.S. Department of Agriculture moves forward with plans to rescind the Roadless Area Conversation Rule and illustrates the importance of roadless areas to fishing and hunting.

Learn more about America’s last, best intact public lands and read the report at tu.org/roadless-report.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!! One of our Chapter members tied his own version of the “Grey Ghost” in honor of today ☘️
“Notes: This is one of Bert Quimby’s ghost series flies based off of Carrie Stevens’ Grey Ghost. The streamer was created for fishing in Maine’s lakes for landlocked salmon and brook trout. The green wing is a nice match to the smelt, and is said best fished during the spring while the smelt are on their migratory run. Other streamers in Mr. Quimby’s ghost series include the Galloping Ghost, Silver Ghost a at least 2 versions of a Lady Ghost.”
