🚨 New Artist Alert!! 🚨

Very very excited to have Tyler Eschendal join the 2026 Unruly Sounds line up! Tyler Eschendal (he/him) is a composer, percussionist, and videographer based in Princeton, NJ. Speech, stuttering, and (dis)fluency are topics at the core of his work, which is often explored through short film and live theater.

Upcoming projects include a new collaboration with Sō Percussion, new work for Alarm Will Sound supported by their Matthew Marks Impact Fund, and a new solo music-theater work premiering November 2026. Tyler holds degrees in music composition from the University of Cincinnati (B.M.) and the University of Southern California (M.M.). He is currently a PhD candidate in Composition at Princeton University.

🚨 New Artist Alert!! 🚨

Gladstone Deluxe is a New York–based artist working with percussion and electronics. As a percussionist, Gladstone is interested in how conceptions and politics of time are embodied, and can bleed into the social topography of a culture through rhythmic performance. As a technologist, he develops systems for the augmentation and amplification of percussive messages. His experimental approach towards composition and interface design is a collision of the spiritual and the cybernetic.

Gladstone has recently appeared in galleries like The Warhol Museum, Rubin Foundation, Fridman Gallery, the Carnegie Museum of Art, and clubs all over the country. The past couple years have held collaborations with Moog Synthesizers, Sō Percussion, Attacca Quartet, Marcos Balter, Maria Chávez, Ikue Mori, and more. Gladstone also keeps busy as the timbales player for Las Mariquitas, which was recently featured in Rolling Stone. Gladstone holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University, an MFA from Columbia University, and is a PhD candidate at Princeton University.

Guess who’s BACK?? After focusing on some fab new artists, let’s take a look at who is returning this year!

✨Anna Meadors✨ is a composer, saxophonist, electronic music producer and educator. Her music is inspired by nature walks and small details, birds, slightly uneven pulses, the buzzy stillness of bodies of water, and joyful improvisation. Her saxophone playing has been described as “potently feral” (American Pancake) 😎 She will performing a solo set with electronics⚡️

Anna is the Assistant Director of Columbia University’s Computer Music Center and a lecturer of electronic music composition and production in Columbia’s Music Department. She graduated from Peabody Conservatory with a B.M. in saxophone performance, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with an M.M. in Composition, and recently finished her Ph.D. at Princeton University in Music Composition.

Yesssss we have another newbie to welcome to the Unruly Sounds fam, but they are not new to Princeton, having played all over town and around 😎

If there was a way to personify ‘chill happiness’, it would be ✨Samb’in Princeton✨!! As Princeton’s first roda de samba, what began as backyard jam sessions among friends has grown into a joyful community gathering. Musicians play around a shared table and everyone is invited to sing, clap, dance, and celebrate together. Join us for togetherness in movement and music!

🚨 New Artist Alert 🚨

✨Layale Chaker✨is an incredible violinist, vocalist, and composer who is starting her PhD in Music Composition at Princeton University this year! She will be presenting her music in a trio setting with Kyle Sanna on guitar and Aaron Edgcomb on drums, drawing on classical Arabic poetic meters, oral, and free forms through the lens of contemporary Maqam, jazz, and free improvisation.
