“It” can really mean different things to different people, but it starts with each of us choosing to shop locally, choosing to help bring in new business, choosing to help make our community more attractive to residents, visitors, and new businesses alike. Beyond that, “It Starts Here” could mean that Princeton might become a leader and example to other small towns and provide influence beyond the
limits of our downtown in terms of really showing what community support and pride is all about. We are taking responsibility for the future of our downtown by starting this initiative. Our first "big" success was awarding the Central Minnesota Art Co-Op (CMAC) as the winner of the first ever "Princeton It Starts Here Contest"! After a competitive contest, CMAC was awarded $10,000 in a forgivable loan from the city and a series of in-kind donations from businesses. Watch for more details for the second round...
Our next big project is the upcoming Minnesota Design Team Visit on September 26-28th! The Princeton Downtown Committee is a great way to get involved in many activities related to Experiencing Princeton!
