Here are five practical ways young people can live on mission right where they are:
1. Be Intentional with Friendships
Build genuine relationships with classmates, teammates, and neighbors. Listen well, encourage others, and look for opportunities to share your faith naturally.
2. Serve Your Community
Volunteer at local food pantries, nursing homes, schools, community events, or neighborhood cleanups. Serving others demonstrates Christ’s love in tangible ways.
3. Live with Integrity
Let your actions match your faith. Be honest, kind, forgiving, and respectful, even when it’s difficult. A consistent life often speaks louder than words.
4. Share the Hope of Jesus
Don’t be afraid to tell your story. Invite friends to church or youth group, pray with someone who is hurting, and be ready to explain why your faith matters.
5. Look for Everyday Opportunities
Mission isn’t just overseas. It’s in your school hallways, on your sports team, at your job, and in your neighborhood. Ask God each day, “Who can I encourage, help, or point toward You today?”
Challenge for students:
Instead of asking, “Where is my mission field?” begin asking, “Who has God already placed in my path today?” Living on mission starts one conversation, one act of kindness, and one step of obedience at a time. 🌍❤️
