Rest in peace, Jeanne Gibson one of our last living Rosie the Riveters who passed away July 29, 2026.

She left home in Minnesota at 18 in 1944, became a welder at Todd Pacific Shipyards in Seattle, and helped build the destroyers that carried the fight in WWII. Later served with the Army Transportation Corps in Alaska.

She went on to earn her Ph.D., teach for 30 years, and get her private pilotโ€™s license. In 2024 she and her fellow Rosies received the Congressional Gold Medal.

Jeanne spent her later years making sure no one forgot what the Home Front women did. She inspired kids, especially young girls, and kept showing up for the mission until the very end.
100 years of grit, service, and quiet strength.
Thank you for answering the call, Jeanne.
We wonโ€™t forget. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today, July 29th, Kentucky will finally welcome home one of its own.

U.S. Army Pvt. Mike Raymond McDowell was killed in action during World War II while serving with Merrill's Marauders in Burma in 1944. He was 19.

For more than 80 years, he was listed as unaccounted for. Thanks to modern forensic science, his remains were identified earlier this year, and now he'll receive the burial and honors he earned.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ A repatriation service will be held:
๐Ÿ“ Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff
๐Ÿ—“ Wednesday, July 29
๐Ÿ•ฅ 10:30 a.m.

If you're able, consider attending to help give this Kentucky hero the welcome home he never received.

Gov. Andy Beshear has also ordered flags at state buildings to fly at half-staff in Pvt. McDowell's honor.

Let's make sure this American hero is not laid to rest alone. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

The AIR CARE for Vets Act (H.R. 9666) is in Congress right now. It needs your voice to become law. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

This bipartisan bill directs the VA to pilot FDA-approved 4D lung imaging โ€” technology that finally detects the burn-pit lung disease that standard tests too often miss, without invasive procedures like open lung biopsies.

We fought for the PACT Act and won. This is the next step: earlier diagnosis, faster claims, lives saved.

๐Ÿ‘‰ TAKE 2 MINUTES: Tell your U.S. Representative and Senators to co-sponsor H.R. 9666.
