➡️ COVID-19 was associated with an estimated 290,000–450,000 hospitalizations and 34,000–53,000 deaths in the U.S. last year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
➡️ The COVID vaccine has been proven effective in protecting against the most serious impacts of the disease, including hospitalization and critical medical interventions such as ventilation.

☑️Detail a communication plan to keep household members connected across different locations.
☑️Ensure access to important items like medications and essential paperwork.
☑️Make added plans for family members with special needs, as well as pets.

For families facing food insecurity, the summer months bring added challenges without the stability of school lunch programs. Enter Hackensack Meridian Health and the Fulfill food bank. Together, the two organizations provided nearly 2,000 food backpacks with nonperishable healthy foods to children in Ocean and Monmouth counties this summer. “This initiative is about more than just providing food; it’s about providing security, improving health outcomes, and showing our communities that we are here for them,” said Nicole Harris-Hollingsworth, senior vice president of social impact & population health. Did you know that recommended vaccines during pregnancy can help protect both you and your baby from serious illnesses? Talk with your prenatal care provider about vaccines that may be recommended during pregnancy, including Tdap, flu and RSV.

After birth, newborns should receive recommended immunizations, including the Hepatitis B vaccine, to help protect against serious infections from day one.
