Hello and happy Spring BRSCJ family! I’m Paige! And I am delighted and excited to join the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice community as the new TransEnby Justice Collective Coordinator!
I am so looking forward to be a part of this team, and continuing the work of the Rustin Center to expand, empower and include trans, nonbinary and any and all other gender non-conforming folks in our journeys towards self-knowing, comfort and liberation.

The TransEnby Justice Collective will also go by the nickname Lavender Rose Collective! The color lavender has a history within and related to the q***r community that follows a similar path of taking insults and alchemizing them into a tool for community, from the sneer of “having a lavender streak” to McC*arthyism to iced oat milk lavender lattes. And because we would be nowhere as a community without Black trans folks, Ethan X. Parker’s 2015 art piece for Trans Day of Resilience features a heart-hitting cry of “Give us our roses while we’re still here”, which has proven some incredible sticking power as a fiery demand to exist peacefully.

I CANNOT WAIT to meet, organize, scheme and play with y’all. I will be hosting the Rustin Center Safe Spaces the 3rd Friday of every month. Come say hey and hang! I’ll be the one reading a chunky horror manga, crocheting, playing with tarot cards and/or body doubling for my fellow ADHD riddled q***rs 💜💜💜
