Please, do not use the Recycling Center as a cat dumping ground! The nice people who work there pay for the food out of their own pockets!!!!

Chateaux de Gatos and the Puerto Rico Dog Fund have worked hard to spay/neuter this colony to prevent overpopulation there. Please don’t add to the problem!!!

Want to help Rincón’s community cats but can’t trap, foster, or volunteer? 🐈❤️

One of the simplest ways to make a difference is to help the people who feed them.

Many colony caretakers spend hundreds of dollars each mona lot of money out of their own pockets to provide food for community cats. These dedicated neighbors are helping to prevent hunger and sickness. If you know someone in your neighborhood who cares for community cats, consider dropping off a bag of cat food. Every bag helps. 🙀

¿Quieres ayudar a los gatos comunitarios de Rincón pero no puedes atraparlos, acogerlos ni hacer voluntariado?

Una de las formas más sencillas de marcar la diferencia es ayudar a las personas que los alimentan.

Muchos cuidadores de colonias gastan cientos de dólares de su propio bolsillo cada mes para alimentar a los gatos comunitarios. Estos vecinos dedicados ayudan a prevenir el hambre y las enfermedades. Si conoces a alguien en tu vecindario que cuide de gatos comunitarios, considera llevarle una bolsa de comida para gatos. Cada bolsa ayuda. 🐈❤️

Dear Rincon,

We have heard that the Governor of Puerto Rico has pledged $2 million for animal welfare on the island. We are asking you to take the time to send one of these letters to the Mayor. He needs to know that a solution is possible and his office can help by filing for this money and funding us to improve animal welfare.

As many of you know, there are some extremely hard working rescues in Rincon. As a whole, we are trying desperately to make life a little better for the animals. Funding is always an issue. Wouldn't it be great if the Mayor applied for some of the Governors $2 million and helped us help the situation in Rincon?????

Attention Mayor — the science is clear: large-scale Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) works.

Communities around the world have successfully reduced cat overpopulation through consistent, high-volume spay/neuter programs. The key is: Do it at scale, and do it regularly.

Veterinarians and municipalities in other PR towns are already partnering with rescuers to make this happen. Rincón can do this too. We have the knowledge. We have the volunteers. We have the plan. What we need now is municipal support and funding to bring large-scale TNR to our town and create lasting change—for the cats, for residents, and for tourism.

Atención, Alcalde: la ciencia es clara: el programa de Captura, Esterilización y Retorno (TNR) a gran escala funciona.

Comunidades de todo el mundo han logrado reducir con éxito la sobrepoblación felina mediante programas de esterilización y castración consistentes y de alto volumen. La clave es: hacerlo a gran escala y hacerlo de manera regular.

Veterinarios y municipios de otros pueblos de Puerto Rico ya están colaborando con rescatistas para hacer esto realidad. Rincón también puede lograrlo. Tenemos el conocimiento. Tenemos los voluntarios. Tenemos el plan. Lo que necesitamos ahora es apoyo municipal y financiamiento para implementar el TNR a gran escala en nuestro pueblo y generar un cambio duradero: para los gatos, para los residentes y para el turismo.

One unspayed female cat can have kittens…
Those kittens can have kittens…
A single cat, along with each of her female offspring can become grandmothers or great-grandmothers in just 2 years. The amount of kittens increases exponentially!
This is why the cats need spay/neutering. TO PREVENT CONTINUED BREEDING!

Una sola gata sin esterilizar puede tener crías...
Esas crías, a su vez, pueden tener crías...
Una sola gata —junto con cada una de sus descendientes hembras— puede convertirse en abuela o bisabuela en tan solo dos años. ¡La cantidad de crías aumenta de forma exponencial!
¡Por eso es necesario esterilizar y castrar a los gatos: PARA EVITAR QUE SIGAN REPRODUCIÉNDOSE!
