The Believe foundation is committed to providing local individuals and families facing cancer by providing meaningful assistance and essential services throughout their journey.
100% of every donation stays local to help give the strength to BELIEVE ๐ In 1992, a young woman came in to my salon carrying a picture of a dear friend of hers battling leukemia. She wondered if I could find a wig she co
uld give to her friend. She continued to explain that her friend was 19 years old and disliked the wigs she was provided as they always appeared unnatural. This of course lead to major feelings of sadness. As it would figure, I had never worked with a wig before, but I permed it and made it look as close to the picture as possible. This young ladies name was Carla Reinbeck and unfortunately I only met her once at the hospital before she lost her battle with cancer, her and her family will forever remain close to my heart. Since that experience, I have had multiple clients who have shared this similar experience. As they sit in my chair and share these extreme fears, one major one being the loss of their hair, I felt on my heart I needed to do something. I had one very wonderful friend ask that I shave her head on three separate occasions because her breast cancer continued to return. I will never forget the tears in her eyes each and every single time. I did not want these individuals to leave my salon feeling this way when I knew I could do something at the time to instantly calm their fears and lift them up as best as I could. That was my inspiration for founding the Believe Foundation and giving individuals the strength to believe.
