The 100th celebration of the Jeff Davis monument has been scaled down considerably since we first started planning for this weekend. The Ladies' Tea has been cancelled, but the 52nd Regimental String Band is still on board to play for us and we hope enough people will stay for a dance Saturday evening. We got nixed on the artillery & infantry demonstrations, but a full model replica of a gun boat & the "General Lee" will be on display. The person of General Lee will also be attending and discussing his conversations with President Davis while serving as Commander of the Army of Virginia.

Members of the Ky Division SCV will be on hand as well as some local SCV camps, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and Order of the Confederate Rose. Period dress is optional, but you'd look good if you did.

And, needless to say, at last report the elevator in the monument is not working. 🤷‍♀️ But, y'all come anyway and help celebrate President Davis's 216th birthday and the monument erected in his honour 100 years ago.
