The Princeton Region has long attracted residents and companies alike. Our thriving economy, commercial activity, rich cultural scene, and ideal geographic location between Philadelphia and New York City, and long standing partnership with the prestigious Princeton University, makes the Princeton Region an ideal place to live, work and do business. We are unique in the fact that with our central location, our Chamber, which was established in 1959, is able to actively engage individuals, businesses and communities in Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset Counties, and our Membership extends even beyond these borders. We had a wonderfully inspiring morning at the Central NJ Young Professionals Summit: Strengths in Action - Learn, Connect, Grow!

Tamarra Causley Robinson, a Certified Strengths Coach and Master Certified Coach from TRC Training, guided our Young Professionals through their CliftonStrengths Assessment to learn how they can use their top five strengths to their advantage. Tamarra navigated the group through a discussion that allowed participants to dive deep, learning what they bring to the table and the importance of advocating for themselves.

Attendees also reflected on Tamarra’s empowering message, “You are who you are, and you are the only you there is,” celebrating the unique strengths and abilities that help each person thrive both professionally and personally!

This past week, we reflected on how businesses play an important role at The Business Case for a Thriving Community hosted by the Social Responsibilities Workplace Forum.

Our discussion was moderated by Sandra Toussaint, President and CEO of United Way of Greater Mercer County, who opened with the sentiment, community and connection are necessary just like food and water. Our panelists Amanda Bauman of Johnson & Johnson, Ted Deutsch of RF I Binder, and Elisabeta Dina of First Bank, then established how both internal practices and external partnerships foster local and business communities, with a special focus on the role of non-profit work. They emphasized how businesses should create strong internal communities by allowing core values and employee needs to guide their decisions to strengthen their foundation as a whole.

As the role of the office evolves, industry leaders gathered at the Real Estate Business Alliance September Breakfast to explore what’s shaping the Princeton-Mercer market. Rebecca Machinga, partner-in-charge at Withum, moderated last week's dynamic discussion with panelists Jeremy Neuer from JLL, John O’Hearn from Onyx Equities, and Pat Ryan from First Bank.

Industry experts shared their thoughts on what the future of office space in the Princeton-Mercer region is looking like, as companies are resetting, repositioning, and reimagining what in-office spaces function as for their employees and networks. Offices are currently a lucrative investment with everyone back in-office, almost 4.5 days per week, and the demand is not slowing down any time soon! The discussion covered market trends, tenant needs, and how quality office spaces and workplace amenities help current and incoming employees feel more welcome.
