Here's what's happening tomorrow at the Historical Society of Princeton: WE ♥ PRINCETON: STORIES FROM THE STREET
The Historical Society of Princeton’s latest exhibition, We ♥ Princeton: Stories from the Street, is an interactive look at what the names of Princeton’s streets reveal about the people, places and events that make up its history. The themes of history, diversity, education and innovation are examined through four main roads: Nassau Street, Paul Robeson Place, University Place and Einstein Drive. Included is a collection of maps spanning four centuries, featuring an aerial view donated by Princeton University and the 2013 consolidated Princeton map. Visitors of all ages will enjoy designing a street sign, answering trivia questions and adding their favorite businesses and organizations to “Princeton’s Top 10.”

Collector, Roy Pedersen will be on hand to meet guest and discuss Morven’s new exhibition, Coastal Impressions: Painters of the Jersey Shore, 1880-1940. This exhibition explores the work of artists who lived, worked and drew inspiration from New Jersey’s famous shores. Prolific artist colonies flourished in New Jersey, producing an output that rivaled better-known artist enclaves up and down the east coast.

Kathleen Maguire Morolda's Cranbury Station Galleries on Palmer Square is proud to feature the work of Jean Lareuse in Princeton’s annual Artwalk. Born of Catalan parents in French Guiana, Africa, Lareuse gained success in Paris at the age of 23 and has since shown work in London, New York, Caracas, Washington, ect. The internationally known artist and long-time Princeton resident will be showing his playful paintings of still lives, landscapes, beach and equestrian scenes. The paintings glow from within through Lareuse’ unique use of light and color. Their luminosity conveys a sense of joy and freedom, of life lived to the fullest.
