🌱 Plant a garden. Feed a community. 🌱
Join us this Sunday, June 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Discovery Center at Point Breeze as we plant heirloom vegetables that will become healthy meals for our neighbors.
Volunteers will work alongside our head gardener in the Historic Garden at Point Breeze, the former estate of Joseph Bonaparte. From the Indigenous Three Sisters garden to vegetables and herbs grown in the 1800s, the garden connects history, culture, and community.
The harvest doesn’t stop at the garden gate. D&R Greenway partners with Christ Church Kitchen in Bordentown, where Chef Doan Tucker and her team transform our vegetables into nourishing meals for people throughout the region.
As Doan says, “There’s a huge need, and if I can help fill some voids, that’s why I do it.”
Named Burlington County Outstanding Woman of the Year, Doan’s commitment to serving others reminds us that small acts—planting a seedling, tending a garden, sharing a meal—can make a real difference.
