AFNA sponsored a three-day School Eye Screening Camp conducted by the Al-Shifa Centre for Community Ophthalmology (ACCO), a department of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, at Jamia Dar-ul-Uloom Haqqania, Akora Khattak, from June 9–11, 2026.

The camp provided essential eye screening and vision care services to students and community members, benefiting a total of 1,248 individuals through OPD consultations. During the camp, 1,111 refraction assessments were conducted to identify vision problems and ensure timely intervention.

A total of 78 patients requiring specialized treatment were referred to Al-Shifa Trust's base hospital for further evaluation and care. To support better vision and eye health, 163 eye medicines, 80 reading glasses, and 212 specialized glasses were provided free of cost.

Through AFNA's generous support, this initiative helped detect vision problems early, improve eye health awareness, and ensure access to quality eye care services for deserving communities.

AFNA sponsored a three-day Free Surgical Eye Camp conducted by the Al-Shifa Centre for Community Ophthalmology (ACCO), a department of Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, at DHQ Hospital, Nowshera, from June 9–11, 2026.

The camp provided comprehensive eye care services to 3,780 patients from underserved communities. A total of 124 sight-restoring eye surgeries were successfully performed, helping individuals regain vision and improve their quality of life.

In addition, 104 patients were screened for Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and Hypertension (HTN), while 508 individuals benefited from General Medical OPD services. To support ongoing eye health, 1,521 pairs of eyeglasses and 2,260 eye medicines were distributed free of charge.

Through AFNA's generous support, this initiative expanded access to quality healthcare and brought the gift of sight to thousands of deserving individuals and families in Nowshera.

Over three days in Mansehra, an AFNA-sponsored school eye screening camp helped identify vision problems that may have been affecting students' learning and daily lives for years.

A total of 1,248 students were screened, 1,111 vision tests were conducted and 292 pairs of glasses were provided to those who needed them most. In addition, 78 students were referred for further treatment, giving them access to the specialized care they deserve.

For many children, something as simple as a pair of glasses can mean reading with confidence, participating in class, and seeing a brighter future.

Together, we brought hope, healing, and clearer vision to thousands. Through an AFNA-sponsored surgical eye camp established and conducted by Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital at DHQ Hospital, Nowshera, from June 9–11, 2026, life-changing eye care services were delivered to underserved communities.

Over the course of three days, 3,780 patients received eye consultations, 3,598 vision screenings and refractions were conducted, and 124 sight-restoring surgeries were successfully performed. In addition, 1,521 reading glasses and 3,935 eye medications were provided, helping patients regain clearer vision and greater independence in their daily lives.

The camp also ensured continued care for those needing further treatment, with 797 patients referred for advanced medical services. Beyond eye care, 508 individuals received general medical consultations, and 425 general medicine prescriptions were dispensed to support overall community health.

Every consultation, surgery, and pair of glasses represents a life touched and a future made brighter. This impact was made possible through the generosity of AFNA donors and supporters, and the dedicated efforts of Al-Shifa Trust, working together to ensure that quality healthcare reaches those who need it most.
