Sometimes life changes in an instant, leaving us unsure of what comes next. In those moments, faith, hope, and the right support can make all the difference.

Jarrar Afridi suddenly lost his vision, making it difficult for him to continue his studies and even manage everyday activities. His father took him to different hospitals, hoping to find the right treatment, but they struggled to find a facility that could properly address Jarrarโ€™s needs.

Eventually, they found the support they were looking for at the Lighthouse at Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital in Rawalpindi. There, Jarrar received the specialized care and low-vision rehabilitation he needed.

Today, Jarrar has seen a significant improvement in his vision and is once again moving forward with his life with greater confidence and independence. His journey reminds us that sometimes, the right care at the right time can help someone find their way forward again.

From August 25โ€“27, AFNA sponsored a free surgical eye camp at DHQ Hospital, Nankana Sahib, bringing essential eye and medical care closer to people in the community. Established by Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, the camp gave hundreds of patients an opportunity to receive care, treatment, and support that may otherwise have been difficult to access.

Over these three days, 2,411 people visited the camp for outpatient care, 138 patients received eye surgeries, 719 pairs of glasses were distributed, and 2,118 eye medicines were provided. The camp also offered diabetes and hypertension screenings for 357 people and general medical care for 273 patients.

But the real impact goes beyond these numbers. It means someone being able to see more clearly, an elderly person receiving treatment they had been putting off, a family getting help for a loved one, or a patient walking away with greater hope for better health. By supporting this camp, AFNA and Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital helped bring compassionate, accessible healthcare directly to the Nankana Sahib community.

Every patient cared for represents a life touched, a burden made lighter, and a little more hope brought into the community. We are grateful to everyone whose support makes these camps possible and allows us to continue reaching communities where quality healthcare is needed most.
