Due to projected wind speeds at the launch site this Saturday, we will be postponing the launch to November 19th, 1:00-4:30pm at the same location. We are sorry for any inconvenience, and hopeful that the weather will work out for us on the backup date.

There’s still time to sign up! Join us for a fun filled afternoon of aerospace excellence! Marshall-Putnam 4-H STEM is hosting a unit-wide rocket launch for all 4-H youth (ages 8-18) in Bureau, LaSalle, and Marshall-Putnam Counties on November 5th, 2022, from 1:00pm-4:30pm, at 301 East Monroe Street, Magnolia, Illinois.

IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER- a determination to postpone will be made on Thursday, November 3. Please watch social media for updates!

All fliers must attend a mandatory safety meeting at 1:00pm. Our flight and recovery area allows for up to “G” equivalent motors (160 N-sec total impulse or 80 N-sec Max Thrust, NO sparky motors allowed), so this is an excellent opportunity for those youth with rockets that are too large to launch at their local county fair. More details and online registration can be found at go.illinois.edu/blmplaunch We can’t wait to see you there!

Fall in Love with 4-H took place on Sunday, October 16th as a way to introduce our program to new and interested potential 4-Hers. During the event, youth and their families learned the 4-H pledge, created a fall-themed centerpiece and got a sample of our 4-H Cooking 101 project by making cereal bar pumpkins.

4-H accepts members throughout the year with clubs meeting throughout the county. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Danielle Gapinski, Bureau County 4-H Program Coordinator, at 815-875-2878 or [email protected].
