TONIGHT: Join us (in person and live on Facebook) to read their names, tell their stories, and contribute to a book that will memorialize the lives lost this year to anti-trans violence.

As I look back on my year at , I am grateful for the opportunities I was given and hopeful for the ones yet to come. I have done everything from hosting safe space to organizing events and tabling with the amazing Carol Watchler. With each First First Friday Breakfast, I grew more confident in introducing myself to and conversing with new people. I'm not afraid to speak in front of crowds and feel comfortable leading a team of people. I was even invited to throw a first pitch at a Trenton Thunder game! The most important thing to me: the friends and family I have gained along the way. I will miss you all dearly.

While my time as an intern extraordinaire is coming to an end, I promise to stop by for First Friday Breakfast and other events when I can. Thank you to everyone who made this year as special as it was. This is not a goodbye, it is a see you soon.@@@

As Pride Month comes to a close, we wanted to share a video of this yearโ€™s PRIDE Parade and After-Party, created by one of our Interns, Brooke Zevon.

https://youtu.be/MVD5wEBd-Yc?si=wNXmds-fG2SJeDPx

Hereโ€™s what Brooke has to say about her video:

โ€œI made this video to highlight our amazing community and share what is most meaningful about Pride. To me, pride is authenticity, vulnerability, and community. It is recognizing the impact of LGBTQIA+ trail blazers throughout history, and honoring their commitments to the movement through our own action, advocacy, and acceptance. To have my first ever Pride parade be one filled with so much love, pure joy, and dedication to the community (even in the pouring rain), has been beyond powerful.

Thank you to my INCREDIBLE bosses and mentors Robt Martin Seda-Schreiber and BRCSJQueerEducator Dr. Sara Wasserman, for not only inspiring me with the work they do every day, but for giving me such unwavering support, guidance, and enthusiasm towards this project. I cannot wait to continue working and learning with the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice and all the marvelous people I have met so far!โ€

Princeton Pride 25 was as fabulous and fun as ever! No rain could ever dampen our Q***R JOY. Much thanks to everyone who showed up and glowed up in celebration of all who were with us on this beautiful day and those who could not be.

Thank you for inviting to Trenton Thunder Baseball Pride Night!!! What an incredible opportunity to throw a first pitch? Most importantly, thank you to Marissa for joining me last minute as my tabling partner.

Credits to Jeff for the video and for encouraging me to hit the dougout after the game and ask to get my ball signed. Thanks to the usher for letting me borrow a sharpie to have the bat signed!

June is Pride Month, a time for celebrating the historic struggles, achievements, and resiliency of the LGBTQ+ community. While LGBTQ+ people have more rights than in the past, there are still many struggles to overcome, and the fight for justice continues.

There are almost 588 anti-LGBTQ bills across the U.S. that mainly target gender-affirming healthcare and lgbtq+ topics in schools, and over 59 of them have passed. Because of this, pride is even more important this year. Pride is not just a symbol of identity; it's an expression of a historic struggle for joy and liberation in public spaces that we still face today.
